Tell tale signs when you know that you haven't got the job after an interview

I'll kick off with these

1) At the end of the interview when they say thanks for coming but we have had a good response to the vacancy and we have several more people to interview

2) They ask you if at the end of the interview if you have any questions and after you have asked the first question, they immediately assume that you don't have any more questions and immediately wrap up the interview.

I am sure there are several more out there

How about when they say they will phone you tomorrow and they don't - they phone the day after to say you have been unsuccessful.

Isn't this thread just a little bit pointless?

I was told that at the last job I got, so not totally 100% true. Most companies say that even if they are going to offer it to you and at my last job I got the offer in 3 hours.

About a minuet through the door, They clock the Hearing aid.

The shutters come down and your talking to disinterested with dead eyes.

I always put the disability on the application form.

The best one yet was interview on a Friday (deaf aid in place, Head Shaved)
Told at interview to start on Monday 9.00am sharp.
Arrived and was promptly told "Oh! I didn't realize you wore one of those!"
    Really I replied?
Because it's on My application and I wore it at the interview!
He actually went and checked the Application Form!
Oh well I'm sorry I've made a Mistake, he said as I walked out the door.

Negative thread. Just going to have people overevaluating interviewers words even further.

I say the first one at the end of every interview, just to keep people on their toes - and it's normally the truth. You can't make a decision until you have seen everyone anyway.

The second one people do just forget, they aren't going to repeat their question over and over. It's up to you as a candidate to control some of the interview.

When you are in an interview for a local government job and you notice they are totally disinterested.

After the interview you speak to other candidates they have the same view. You then learn that the one and only internal candidate has got the job.

Why do have to keep interviewees who you have already interviewed 'on their toes'? You sound like a control freak wanting to control everyone else's emotions.

Firstly, it's honest, it would be normal to have interviewed multiple people not one person per post. Secondly it stops people getting complacent, I want them to want THE job and not A job.
It also makes feeding back if they haven't got the role a little easier - it's the worst part of the job as it is.
Sometimes I can give someone real area's to improve on and other times there is just simply a better candidate.
If you walk out of an interview thinking you've nailed it - you're probably wrong.

You're also good at evading the question. You said you wanted to keep them on their toes which is nasty. Don't you think applying for a job and waiting on tenterhooks to see if you've got it is enough? Rhetorical questions by the way so no answers needed.
