The book is in our book box at work - either The Book People or Index I think, so if you did want to buy it you might get it at a good price from either of them0

I've just ordered this from Amazon, I like his recipes, they always work
I must have every cookery book under the sun apart from this one
(love Nigella, Jamie and Hugh) don't like Gordon as a man but he can cook. Made his meatballs a while ago from a recipe on the web and me and hubby adored them :T

It's not so much the bouncing that annoys me, but the "random" camera work - bouncing from food, to shelves, to pans, to out-of-focus shots, to chalk and hands, etc, etc..... But that seems to be a modern trait with many tv shows these days and maybe it's considered "artistic"
Best cooking series I ever watched was done by Gary Rhodes many years ago - clear, simple instructions and steady camera on the food.“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
I have to say that this is one of the best cooking shows I've seen. I've cooked 3 or 4 of the recipes, and they are great.
Some of the tips on there are great to know as well. Like the wooden spoon on top of boiling milk will stop it spilling over.
Not sure you need the book mind, you just have to record the show.0 -
I haven't even heard of it, but looking on 4OD he seems to be 20 episodes into it....
I would also say that I just tried to watch one episode..... sat through 6 bl00dy adverts, then the screen says "Error: An error has occurred trying to play the chosen item".

I am really enjoying this too. He makes it all look so simple. Sorely tempted to buy the book.0

- being 4rsed in the first place
- having/getting all the ingredients
- having any gadgets required
- having a dish/pots that are the right size/sort
- waiting for it
- going back/forth checking it, stirring, doing the next bit.
- putting up with the smell and all the moisture landing on your washing that's drying ... stinking it out.
Then all that clearing up.
That's why cheese sandwiches were invented.0 -
I watched a couple of episodes the other day on 4OD while I was off work with the lurgy. Thought it was pretty good actually, despite not being a Gordon fan. Liked all the quick tips. It's on at a funny time of day though so you have to wonder how many people are watching it.0
