Question about family holiday prizes

Options
What do you do if your kids (or one of them) is over 12 when most family holiday prize T&Cs state for kids to be under 12?

Do you just not enter those comps or are they more accommodating about child ages?

I'm never sure whether I should enter the comp or if I won I could maybe pay extra for the older child etc.

What do you do?

May you all have lots of luck, Emma xx

I'd enter & negotiate the extra cost,if any.
I have done much the same on two big holiday wins.On one I gave up $1000 in SAKS vouchers & on the other I just paid for a childs airfare.

I agree with weeowens :) I won a hol before that stated only two kids but as I have three I asked to pay extra and also managed to negotiate in school holiday times as I worked in school. The company was very reasonable about it and I only had to pay for an extra flight, they included the accom and transfers for the extra place!
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!

Ooh that's interesting. I also have 3 kids and as such hardly EVER enter holiday competitions as 99% of the time they are for "2 adults and 2 kids" so I figured it wasn't worth my while. Maybe I should re-think! Thanks for the tip wingobins!
  • I enter all the family holiday comps and I have 3 children. Im hoping that if I win as the youngest is still a baby they will let me just bring her along. If not I figure that I would pay for her and it would then work out to be a cheap family holiday.
Current Aims: Laptop/PC, decent money, holiday
Best Wins: Ipad, Nintendo 3DS, £400 Shopping Spree at LK Bennett, £100 Boots vouchers
Total Wins (Since April 2012) £3442.56
Big thanks to all who post comps :T:beer:
  • Thanks for the replies, guys! I had been entering of course but I feel better about being able to work something out now IF I win :)

i won a go ape weekend for a family of 4 but the kids gad to be 15 and under, mine were 15&17 at the time and so i said they were 14 &15 and told them to hide when we checked in the hotel :o nobody questioned me ;)
  • I'm always curious about entering these types if you don't have kids! Would they let you go as a couple with no kids? Surely that'd be cheaper for them! I'm wary about entering them so I haven't yet but I'd like to know your thoughts :)
Back to comping after a 3-year hiatus :j
