Happy New Year, and thanks to all for the NY messages:T

Today is my day 2 of dryjanuary, easypeasy so far (although at 10.30am it would be a tad worrying if I felt otherwise!)
Away to start stripping again today - this time it's my son's old bedroom which is daughter's soon-to-be new bedroom. The stripping is the wallpaper, although this is the only room in the house where skirting and (inside of) bedroom door remain painted. Apparently a firm will remove the door/skirting/fire-surround for dipping/stripping and then refit. I will cost this up next week and if too expensive then will just give a fresh lick of eggshell. I would prefer the natural wood though....
Bedroom costs will consist of;
Skimming of walls, and possibly ceiling
Emulsion for walls
New carpet
New light
New blind
I am hoping the entire bedroom budget (including stripping of wood), comes in under 1K. I'll report back once costed up.

Phew-wee so many dairies to try to read and loadsa new ones to boot! I can foresee an impact on my studying;)

Still scraping bedroom wallpaper, however anything I can do to cut decorating costs can only be a good thing. Speaking of which, the wood stripping firm will only strip items at their workshop, so for the projected material costs of £50, I'm going to strip the door/skirting/fire surround myself which should keep me out of mischief for a few weeks. I still have to investigate costs to skim walls and ceiling.

Bedroom costs so far £0

Righteo, in the tradition of lists (as we all love a good list), today I will;
*scrape another full wall
*look at ways to dissemble the wardrobe (waaaay too heavy to move, and it's against walls)
*read up on my university bits and pieces before meeting with my new tutor next week
*hoover, hoover, hoover
*wash all dishes by hand, rather than easy option of dishwasher
*try not to eat crisps

It's the new :money: me GG. By reducing costs in one area, I can go crazy spends in another. And I really, really do want (not need, WANT) a gagia coffee machine to make me frothy coffees every single day;)
