Need advise to buy suit

How possible to buy cheap suit for working purpose?
Just got a job in bank and need to wear suit to work. While I have never work in suit before, I'm wondering how to get these stuff at relatively low price. High street's price is typically between 100-200 pounds, which is killingly expensive - and I guess I need approximately 5 of it for a start.
So, where do you get your suit for work? Any tips?
Many thanks.

On Friday I bought a travel suit in M&S in Lakeside in the sale. My lovely friend Lisa helped me find the right sizes in the sale items and I managed to buy a jacket with 2 matching pairs of trousers for a total of £68. Bargain!

My bit of advice is to get a washable one, fom m and S or Matalan, as they are nice and so much more practical and moneysaving than one you need to dry clean.0

My mum always told me- always buy 2 pairs of trousers when you buy a suit, as you'll never match them up again.
Oh, if you get a washable one, remember to give them a bit of a stretch after you've washed them.
I have a washable suit and dinner suit from M&S. To be honest I don't wear my suit to work often, except when i've got clients to see, normally i just go for shirt, trousers and tie.0 -
Believe it or not Primark sometimes have excellent mens suits. Trousers start at about £8 and Jackets about £20. My DH has 2 from there now and won't buy suits from anywhere else!
Agree with the comment about buying 2 trousers for every jacket.
Not sure why you would need 5 suits!?! DH has 2 suits on the go at any one time. Dress them up and make them look different with the shirts you wear, again Primark from about £7 full price and as little as £2 when they reduce them, and your tie -guess what? Primark!! Got him 3 x £1-00 ties (reduced from a full price of £2!) at Christmas...one of them is now his favourites.
Congratulations on your new job...and good luck in your suit hunt.Good Enough Club member number 27(2) AND I got me a stalkee!

What about Bhs? Are their suits any good? Saw 20% promotion now and the price is not too bad.0

Went into Mataland yesterday got a suit for £50, with £10 off. Also got two shirts a tenner each for £15 with £5 off the next shirt, and they can be used for normal use.
I saw some bargain suits in clearance lines but couldn't match a jacket and trousers in right size, maybe you local store has better choice.0 -
Dont know where you live, but in Batley West Yorkshire there is a fab outlet for a company called Berwin& Berwin that manufacture suits for almost all high street stores and also designers. My hubby recently bought a great suit from there for next to nothing. We were also highly impressed by the customer service offered by the young chap who was serving. Hubby is an absolute pain to shop with - he hates the whole thing, but the young lad took all the leg work out of the experience and brought loads of stuff to the changing room to try on whilst I sat on a comfy sofa with the Sunday paper! As we passed the White Rose shopping Mall on our way home (which was heaving) I couldnt help thinking how people are like sheep when it comes to shopping. Its worth a journey if you are not too far away. Its at the end of the "Mill Mile" near the old Skopos mill, but it stands on its own.0
