Hello
I dont have a great credit score, but it is improving slowly.
My husband's credit score is showing as excellent and shortly he is going to apply for a self build mortgage just in his name. He has a deposit of £130,000
Will my credit score affect his ability to apply for a mortgage if we have a bank account in a joint name ?

Remember that your credit score is a fiction. No lender ever takes a blind bit of notice of the score - what they are interested in is the information behind the score and each one calculates its own score according to its own set of rules. The credit score you pay for is just a guess at how a lender might score you. It has no more weight than that.
I would suggest that you repost on the Mortgages and Endowments board http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=15 and give some details about your credit issues. If your score is improving and you are now managing your money, you might be surprised. If some lenders would accept you, then there would be no point in dropping the joint account - and the joint account might make you more acceptable. But you would need to have run a tight ship for a few years.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
