Can anyone help with my captcha's question please?

Hi guys , for the past few days ive been having real problems with my computer accepting the captchas i have been putting in .

Im doing homes and bargain comps at the moment and there usually really easy ones they all keep telling me ive inputted them wrong.

Only thing Im doing different is using mobile broadband instead of bt and im sure this isnt the cause !

Has anyone else ever come up against this problem please?

Happy comping all

I've not come up with any such problems.. have you tried refreshing the captchas?
I smile because I have absolutely no idea what's going on

Sorry, but I can't think what your specific problem is. I have come across these problems at one time or another:

    1) If you open multiple tabs from the same site then only the captcha on the last opened tab is valid - solution = refresh

    2) Some captchas time out - solution = refresh

    3) Some captchas are cropped and when they should show 5 characters you can only see 4 - solution = refresh

    4) Some captchas are unsecured when the rest of the page is secure and will not show at all unless you select "show unsecured data"

    5) On some sites captchas never work first time, but always work second time - I've never found out why, but it may be deliberate programming.

    6) Some captchas can never distinguish between "l" "1" and "I" and between "0" and "O" due to the font used. When I see these I tend to refresh before trying to enter until the captcha contains none of these characters.

    7) Sometimes an incorrectly filled field somewhere else on the form is not immediately obvious and you only notice the site asking for a new captcha (this can go on forever!)

    8) If you use the "go back" arrow on your browser then the old captcha is displayed and you must refresh - really only applies to multiple entry comps such as ITV.

    9) Some captchas require all caps or all lowercase and sometimes you can't tell which eg. oxswzcv or OXSWZCV

Unfortunately Homes & Bargains seems only to suffer from the last of these, plus the degree of tilt on some of the letters can mean that at 45 degrees a "Z" can be mistaken for a "N".

Don't forget that the type of captcha shown below only requires one of the two words entering to work - currently it is the "non-straight" word (the left hand word in the example shown)

  • My internet blocked me from doing capchas a while ago it was the security internet software I was using that had blocked them in a recent update. I had to change my settings to allow captchas again.I use Norton.
    Hope that helps
