Don't know where to post this (Asda)

Hello,

Went to do my weekly shop at asda today, and handed in some vouchers out of the asda magazine, I was told by the assistant that I couldn't use them as I hadn't bought the products, I told her I used them last week, but she said No this is the rule and it has been for ages????????????? Anyone else know of this rule!!

Sam

Does this apply to other coupons as well - or only those from the Asda mag?

For example if you had a 5p off a tin of Heinz beans (voucher for heinz themselves), Heinz would pay Asda the 5p plus a handling charge to Asda (Heinz wouldn't know if you did or didn't buy the product, but at the end of the day asda still get their money). However with Asda magazine coupons they can't exactly claim the money back from themselves.

not to be funny guys but why should you get discount on a product that you have not bought?. It's like haggling for a 10% discount off £100 and expecting to walk away with £10 and no product.
:D The glass is always half full, no exceptions !!:D

you can always use your Asda mag coupons at Tesco and vice versa....I understand Asdas logic that if you aint bought the product you cant use the coupon at Asda, but surely they are gonna miss out with people using their Asda coupons at Tesco.
They've got cars big as bars

Surely Asda mag coupons are for use in Asda only aren't they?! Maybe apart from coupons within adverts placed by other companies?

I think the idea is that tesco/ sainsburys etc will accept other stores coupons as they are then taking away their competitors trade.
  • I've just fallen out with them.
They were out of stock of special offer and wouldn't give me 'smiley voucher' for it.
Lo - it's back up to full price and they've got loads of stock!
