Halifax suggest house prices are therefore stable. The UK housing market is still in the doldrums, figures from the Halifax show.
Its latest monthly survey shows that prices fell by 0.6% in July compared with June, to leave the average house price across the country at £161,094.
This means that average prices are also 0.6% lower than a year ago.
The Halifax predicted that there would be little change in the remainder of this year, unless the recession becomes worse.

That's a bummer seeing as you were on such a good mortgage rate. You must be spending a hell of a lot more on accommodation now, plus added to the fact that any new mortgage you take out now will be much more expensive.0 -

I am paying about £300 more in rent (abeit it is a nicer area) then I was with my old mortgage.
Financally it was a bad move but im happier than what I was. I am getting married this Sat  and then we are just going to save for a deposit. I already have a decent amount saved, but like I said i am in no rush.0 -
