Oh well, it could be worse - it could have happened when we were away from home;) So, mustn't get too grumpy about it.

I have a list for the weekend, my last 2 days of summer:( I'll post that up so I can report back my progress later on;)
    • Wash girls' bedding (will have to do that later as they're still in bed of course;))
    • Tidy my room
    • Sort pile of Next returns and book courier online
    • clear boxes in dd1's room (from when we moved in;))
    • clear pile of books from upstairs hallway
    • sort my school stuff - folders & pencil case
    • Get girls PE kits ready
    • Ironing - mainly school clothes for all 3 of us
    • sew coloured thread on back of girls school tights (as theyre all same size but different denier, cant tell them apart!)
    • write meal plan for next week
    • Amend Asda order
    • Dust and hoover whole house
    • clean kitchen floor with steam mop
    • Sort bro in law's birthday pressie
    • upload shop+scan barcodes and photo of receipt - nearly got £40 of Amazon vouchers there:T)
Ok, that's all i can think of for now - more might get added.

Aww Pixie...how annoying about the car :( you haven't had it that long have you? It's amazing how much you end up relying on it. I hope you can get it sorted soon and that it doesn't cost too much.

Sounds like you have got lots to get sorted today - good to have a list.

I bought it last July, it's an 08 plate:( And I had the extra years warranty..which of course has just run out. It wouldn't be half as bad if we still lived in our old house as that was easy for work etc. The thought of walking 10min to the bus stop then getting bus up to work is not good - how daft am I? I'd rather walk!

Yes, lots to do - so I really shouldn't be sat in my dressing gown with wet hair watching Emmerdale should I?!;) Still, plenty of time to be busy - trying to enjoy the last dregs of holiday:rotfl:

  • Well, I probably haven't done as much as I should have today:o I'll amend the list with my 'have dones'.
Just sitting right now with a white wine&lemonade, dinner in the oven - just oven fish and chips.
I claimed another £5 voucher from my survey earlier, that's £10 in the last week or 2.

I've done most of the washing -most of the bedding is washed, some is on an airer and will finish off on the line tomorrow. I also washed the girls big fleece blankets that go on their beds in winter - I never remember to wash them in the summer while they can dry outside. Also did my thick winter dressing gown, a good job done:D

I shall post next weeks meal plan too - yet another boring one I think. We need new ideas!:D

    Thur-jackets&breaded chicken/spag Bol for dd1
    Fri-chicken curry
    Sat-chicken fajitas and wedges

Good meal plan. Sounds quite varied to me. We get stuck in a rut too and have the same things every week. I know we've been through this before so I won't give you any of my suggestions - we eat loads of fish and I know that one of your dd's isn't too keen.

  • Well ex's money went in yesterday...but today I've just paid £65 on the car, £130 in specsavers:eek: and £60 on a coat for dd...arghhh:eek:

Dd1 and I both had routine eye tests...her glasses were just £10 but mine cost £117:( that was for 2 pairs though, 1 with some damn fancy coating on the lenses and included my NHS voucher from tax credits. Dd1 didn't want the coat I got her last week, so got her a different one and dd2 is having the other one. Still, £100 on 2 coats:( Still, all bought now and they love them, won't need to worry about getting them.

So happy to have my car back - and that could have cost more. It was the temperature sensor, all working again now - and starting first time thank goodness;) Took a while to start it up this morning, pain.

Girls back to school tomorrow, hols are over now. They're ready for it though, it's been a lovely long break. Dd2 is just chopping up the bits for pasta bake then showers and early nights all round hopefully:D

  • And first week at work over:D
Im trying to have a very low spend week to try and pull something back from the last few weeks:o So far so good, just a few bits of groceries. No plans for the weekend so that'll help.

Had my final BT bill now I've moved to sky and they owe me £122:T Instead of sky and Bt totalling £85 I now pay sky £65 and I could remove the movies and make it even lower;)

Today's spends have been £10 voucher for bro in laws birthday and £11 in co-op. I got nice men's deodorants which were buy 1 at £2.59 and get 2 free, so one for bro in law and the others can go to ex for Xmas from girls. Also bought fruit, chocolate and cards for bro in law.

I need to ring the water board about getting the chap to install the meter, it's going to be indoors so I have to be here. Keep forgetting to return their call.

    Away, nearly wine time:beer:

  • Well, I managed to move £70 of my £100 tax credits into savings this week:beer: I spent £25 on petrol and the other £5 not went into the grocery account to pay for a bra I got in Tesco - I'm pleased with my spends this week:) I have had grocery spends of course - there's about £40 left until next Thurs for food, which should be fine as girls eating with ex on Sat and Sun which helps.

Obviously a very quiet week as I've not been anywhere or spent anything;) This week dd1 and I need to go get our glasses on Friday, otherwise I'm not going out. I'm meant to be ,eating a chap I've been chatting to online that I went to school with about 25 years ago...but I'm chickening out:o:o

The letting agent are doing a 3-monthly check tomorrow so have been rushing about cleaning and tidying...it's looking good here. It means we'll get to the weekend wi a clean and tidy house-what a novelty;)

  • Hooray - I have just checked my Quidco account and I have £50 coming to me in the next payment run from my car insirance taken out in March:T I was wondering if I was ever going to get it. That'll go straight into savings, ready to pay the next part of the holiday deposit in 3 weeks.

I've just ordered a £10 B00ts voucher from Valued Op1nions...at last. I usually get Amazon vouchers but I nearly have enough points with SHop+Scan for £40 of Amazon vouchers so went for B00ots as can easily use that towards Xmas things. Once Shop+Scan give me my points next week for this week's barcodes then I can claim my vouchers:D

Just done a meal plan - need a very low shop as there's just £5 in the grocery acc til Thurs:o Girls eating at their dad's today and tomorrow so just planning for 4 days.

We picked up our glasses yesterday (I feel a right old woman now in them;)) - but when I got home and tried mine on while looking in the mirror I noticed my favourite pair are wonky:( So need to nip back in to town to get them sorted...grrr, more petrol and car park charges:mad:

I've got 3 loads of washing on the line, just some bedding still to go but think I'll leave that for tomorrow. It's nice going into the weekend with a tidy house for a change. I feel very tired and not 100% though so will have a lovely, restful afternoon once girls have gone:p
