Goooood afternoon:p
So after a couple of quiet days at home, I'm going to venture out today:rotfl: I'm taking dd1 to see Les Mis at the cinema, dd2 is meeting friends to go to town then staying over at ones house. So, as its just dd1 and I, and the film doesn't finish til 6.40, we're having a treat of Mcds for dinner:)Wow, I know how to have fun;)
I've just charged dd2s old phone so I can text for an Orange wed code...so the film will just cost £7.50:D I'll take drinks in but may treat dd to popcorn.
I must confess...I ordered lots of things from N£xt online:o It was all sale stuff though, and I'm not keeping much of it...jeans £10, cardi £8, pjs (maybe) which were about £8, ballet pumps for spring/work - maybe 2 pairs at £12 each. I think that's all...I ordered lots but most going back. I did another order last night and got it delivered to a store for just 50p...but I didn't check the store and its going to one I don't ever go to..in the opposite direction to the town we go to:rotfl: I may go there tomorrow, will have to see:D What a fool:p
Trying to update myself a bit...stuck in bootleg jeans still, so got my skinny £10 jeans now;) I'm reasonably up to date - my teens aren't too embarrassed by me anyway:rotfl:I don't half feel old though walking round t0pshop with them though:D
I'm told Les Mis is a bit of a weepie, I've never seen it, no idea of the story so lets see...takes a lot to make me cry at a film:rotfl:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
How was it then? Did you cry? I could cry at adverts :rotfl:
I wish I could wear skinny jeans. DD lives in hers but I think I've got the wrong shape legs and too big a backside for them. It doesn't stop some big bottomed girls wearing them though does it? Maybe I should just get a long jumper? DD isn't too embarrassed by me (yet anyway....)It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Cry? Me? Nope...I had no tears, though I did find it really emotional and just amazing. I'd go back and see it, and that doesn't happen often;) Just a fab film, dd loved it too (and she had a tear), we enjoyed our afternoon out.
So, cinema cost £12 - that's both tickets plus popcorn. I spent £4 in @sda on the way on 2 cokes, a reduced chicken wrap for us to share for lunch and a bag of mini eggs:D Petrol £30 and then Mcds on the way home was £8.
Plans for tomorrow - maybe go and fine the Next where my parcel got sent:rotfl: it's not far..about a 15m drive, may as well. I'm picking dd2 up from her sleepover at 11 so will nip out after that.
Skinny jeans - I'd only wear long tops too, it's not my backside that's the problem it's the roly middle:rotfl: I can wear size 10s, but I am just so un-toned, that's my problem. Muffin top is not a gd look:o Doesn't help that I have 2 long skinny daughters - dd1 taller than me and size 6/8 and dd2 is same height as me now and a weeny 6. Makes me feel short and dumpy:DI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Not much to report here today. I nipped down to the council office as they sent a letter about new changes to council tax benefit - child maintenance will be taken into account now so had to show evidence of that, boo;) No doubt I'll lose the ct benefit from april:(
Picked up a few bits of groceries in Sainbugs and coop - total spends £15. £21 in the hairdresser later on...I soooo needed the haircut:o
Girls at their dads tonight, just til tomorrow afternoon.
Now, someone might need to give me a talking to... I've been chatting on and off to a guy I knew at school (when we were about 13mind) for about 2 years now;) Since about September we keep trying to arrange to meet up then I chicken out and make some excuse:o I hadn't heard from him since we spent NYEve texting (again, my fault, he said to contact him to meet up that week) - I emailed the other day and he's replying, then said we need to meet. I put him off...saying I'm busy for the next couple of weeks.
I am mad I know, he is going to get severely hacked off with me and give up soon. I am just sooo nervous...I don't know where to meet, id like to go for a 'proper' drink but there's nowhere I could walk to...so driving rules out the glass of wine for courage;) urghhhhh I'm going to be single forever unless I can just bite the bullet and meet the guy.
Why am I so rubbish?! I know I sound crazy, but since I split with the ex 6 years ago I've not seen anyone else....I have forgotten how to act. Helpppppp:rotfl:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Maybe just meet for coffee first? He's obviously OK if he's still chatting to you. If you text one another and it's all fine you should have plenty to talk about when you meet in the flesh (ha!).
Strangely enough I'm going for a bike ride tomorrow with a bloke I was at school with. Not seen him for 25 years!
I think you should just go for it. After all you have nothing to lose. Even if you don't click romantically it's always nice to have a male friend. It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Going for coffee sounds easy enough, but it makes me feel so nervous, I've talked myself into 'I can't do it!'...what an idiot I sound:o I don't even know what I'm so worried about:o
I'm free until the girls come home tomorrow so I should have suggested an hour for a coffee...instead I just say I'm busy for the next few weekends, arghhhh, I am pathetic!:oI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
You're not pathetic at all, you're just someone who has been out of the loop for a while and it will feel strange. It is normal to feel nervous - he might be too you know!! Everyone feels nervous when they are out of their comfort zone.
You could always just text him and say you do have a couple of hours free tomorrow now if it isn't too late to meet up? If it goes well you might be itching for the next time you can see him and if not then at least you won't be wondering any more. If you say you've got to be back by a certain time you've then got an escape route if you're having a really bad time.
Then we can report back to each other on how our afternoons went (except mine isn't actually a date it's just a social thing).
Go for it!It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Afternoon:)
I need to motivate myself so thought I'd pop here, get a list down and hope that does the job;)
Just having a quiet day....I chickened out of texting the guy, so will just carry on being extremely hacked off at my own uselessness:(
I've just parcelled up all the next returns...loads is going back. I should add up what I've kept really:oooooh...I just did it while sitting here...£78, £88 if I keep a pair of jeans I'm undecided about:) For that £88 though I did get - 2 pairs of skinny jeans, 4 pairs of ballet pumps (2 for work, 2 for spring), bikini bottoms, a long cotton cardi, and pyjamas. I'm pleased with it all...and spend not as bad as I'd feared;) The shoes are all great, 3 pairs at £10 and one at £14. My work shoes are kn@ckered, the patents peeling off and the other pair rub my joint. So new shoes have been needed. Last spring I didn't buy more pumps, so those 2 pairs I wore then are on their last legs.
I've done some washing, it's on the airer in the porch where it gets warm - well it will if the sun that's hiding comes out properly.
I'll be back with a list and meal plan:DI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Stuff to get done before back to work on Tues:
- Hoover the stairs, rest done yesterday
- sort recycling/cardboard for collection Mon
- write shopping list to last us til the end of the week
- iron school clothes
- organise OU books for revision, ready for new course in Oct
- run round house putting things away
- paint nails
- clean bathroom
- get things on eBay, need some extra money
That's all I can think of for now. I don't think we are doing anything tomorrow, dd1 has lots of coursework to do. On Monday we have inset and I think we're going to town so girls can buy me a birthday pressie:DI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Awwwww...you should have met up with him! Still, if you don't feel ready, you might not have enjoyed it.
Looks like you got loads achieved in the time anyway. I desperately need some new clothes - the only thing I have bought this year is a new pair of pole pants! It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0
