Snow day for the girls and eldests gcse exam that was on today will be done another time:D

I'm sitting here in my dressing gown hoping my school texts soon with a decision...the weathers pretty bad and not letting up, would be mad to expect the staff to drive to work. If I don't here in the next 10m though I'd best go have a shower just in case:o I'm not driving if we're open though...I'll walk, though goodness knows how long that'll take:eek:

Fingers crossed for a snow day all round:j

Hope you've got a snow day. I did wonder whether it would miss us, but oh no, we've got loads!

Yes, I have the day off too...phew, I wouldn't fancy attempting the journey to school:o It's down one steep hill then up another one, I shall be staying indoors for a while now;)

I think most of the schools round here are closed, result!

What a quiet few days:) I didn't leave the house all weekend...apart from to shovel the snow off our front path and steps.

Back to work today and a lot of it has thawed today, really hope we don't have any more, can't be doing with it;)

I got my Am@zon cc statement today...really p'd off as I was in arrears by just £13 and they sent some office of fair trading info about it...I was so confused as I always pay on time - the due date is on the calendar. Then realised its because the minimum payment in Dec and in Jan had mysteriously gone up from the usual £25 to about £36 each month...and me, not checking, just paid £25 each month. Grrrr, my fault for not checking but it's been £25 for so long I just merrily paid that:mad: I hope that doesn't show up on my credit file...2 months in a row, only £13 owing to them, but they whacked 2 £12 fees on too:mad:

I just rang and cancelled an old barclaycard and then rang to close my PO cc...then the guy offered me a balance transfer at 0%....so have got him to pay off the nasty Am@zon card as I don't want to use them now, so I now have £1000 on a PO card at 0% til next Jan. I'm pleased with that:p

I also have the small matter of my summer holiday balance due in April:o shhhhhh...£2100 to pay:o I will consider applying for another cc to get a 0% hopefully, or putting it on my Lloyds card which has nothing on it, and maybe getting a balance transfer from that. A 0% on purchases would be gd...I saw T£sco have one.

I know it seems mad putting myself in more debt for the holiday, but with my eldest at 16 and niece at almost 16, this might be the last hol with my sis and her family that all 8 of us go on. They way I look at it is I'm planning on paying is back over the next 2 years...I never go abroad in 2 consecutive years, have to have year off:D

I need to get the car tax done soon...will just go for 6months. I've also had to pay girls gm club fees at £66...urgh that was last terms too...this term is also due, though I'll pay that next month:o it's a good job I haven't got anything else to buy in January...I'm managing all of this out of my weekly spends. Being housebound this weekend means I still have the full £100 in my spending account:j

I do need a new tyre though...and one other has a slow puncture so I might go there on Wednesday afternoon to get those seen to. I've put it off too long, it's silly to leave it when I have the money in savings.

On the bright side, ex's maintenance goes in on Friday:beer:

How annoying about the amaz0n card. I did something similar with my v1rgin card - i think I was being super efficient and paid early but it was classed as the previous months payment IYSWIM so I missed the next one (thinking I'd already paid it) and I got stung with a late payment charge. I did the same as you though and paid it off with a 0% balance transfer and took my business elsewhere! Ner..

We are thinking about our holiday too. Probably going to do the same as last year as we had such a great time and I don't really do a sitting around holiday. Besides I can't really afford abroad and refuse to put it on a credit card

:T to the snow and still having money in the spends account :)

Yes, MBNA are not getting another penny off me;)

More snow coming now and forecast to be a lot tonight so hoping for another snow day....of not, then the snow can just do one, fed up with it:) But on the good side, it does mean no going out and no spending. Planning on going to my sis this weekend to see my niece for her bday so I do want it gone by then.

Saw my darn back tyre was looking like it needed pumping up yet again...so I decided once and for all to go to the tyre place. They replaced 2 and did some alignment test that showed it was 4mm out...means nothing to me but for another £21 they sorted that...bill of £123:(

I bought printer ink too, £17, we needed it urgently so dd1 can do her art homework. £13 on groceries and now home in my pjs, dd2 making scones and I'm catching up on emmerdale...rock&roll.

Possibly a snow day tomorrow...if the snow keeps on chucking down like it is now...

hi Pixie! What a pain with the card fiasco :-(

I hope you get some fun time in the snow. My girls are desperate to it! It has snowed and settled in the hills but not in the village! I hope the scones were nice. I have started my strict diet this week and I am craving a treat!!!!
