aww sorry to hear dd2 is unwell. There really is so much going around - I was absolutely paranoid about any of us picking up the sickness bug. I made dd keep a bottle of handwash on her desk at school and keep using it! I've just come down with the fluey aches and pains and cough but so far dd is OK.

It's not tonsilitis your dd has got is it? I always go off tea when I have that....Hope she feels better soon and the rest of you don't come sown with it.

Have a lovely New Year and here's to a great 2013

  • Poles - her throat is a bit sore, so could be tonsillitis...hope not:o

I'm boooored....dropped dd1 at her party about an hour ago, have come home and had a cider and am now watching the soaps...wow:p
Quietest new year in years! We don't usually go out out - just to my sisters, but now girls getting older they want to see their friends.

All I spent was £5 today when I nipped to the shop for carrots and parsnips for tomorrow's roast, also got crackerbreads, ryv1ta and biscuits. I'm trying to lay off eating bread, I think it affects my crohns, so crispbreads now instead:D

    Ok, time for anotherdrink:beer:

If it's any consolation it's really quiet here too....can you believe we are watching The Great British Bake-Off ?!?! DD's choice not mine. TBH I quite like having a decent excuse not to go out. I spent far too many January 1sts with dreadful hangovers. I haven't had a drink yet because I'm wondering if I'll need to take any more painkillers but might treat myself to a ginger wine in a minute as it's quite warming and will soothe my throat haha....

    Morning:D
I had a productive day yesterday - as soon as I got up I was removing decorations:) So the lounge is now completely back to normal and very clean and tidy too, lovely. I also hoovered through upstairs and sorted all our bedrooms - a very tidy start to 2013.

As it was such a lovely day I had all the windows open, blowing away any germs:rotfl: 2 loads of washing were on the line, including the £5 duvet set I got for dd which she does like...bargain:D

Dd2 was a bit better yesterday - she just had a quiet day on the sofa and by bedtime felt ok again. Dd1 is going to town with a friend today and I think dd2 and I are going in too - so she can finally spend a bit of her money. I can return the jeans to next, I need the money back in my account!

I'm having a bit of a money panic right now:(

I thought the bills account was ok again now - but after my 1st of the month dds came out yesterday there wasn't enough money left for the rent...which comes out tomorrow:( So had to transfer some money from my savings account (I'd moved my maintenance there last week, hoping not to spend it:o). There is exactly enough in the bills account for when the rent comes out tomorrow now. Something goes in this Sunday though, it must be child benefit...but this just shows me I've lost my focus on it all, I hate it:o

I took the jeans and a pair of sale slippers I'd bought back to N£xt yesterday so that's £52 going back into my spending account. I will admit I picked up a cardi there just after I got my refund - in my defence, it was £12 from £26, a long navy boyfriend style one, with funny elbow patches;) I have been looking for a new cardi for ages, a casual one, for wearing with jeans as the 2 grey ones I have are worn out, one has a ladder in and the other stretched out of shape. I also moved £26 from the spends acc to the bills acc to cover a body shop order I made the other day. I needed my day and night creams, so got 2 night, one day with 40% off, plus a tote bag for £3 and oil burner for £5 as the one I had went all tarnished so I'd thrown in out. Ex mil gave me £15 for Xmas so have put that in my purse to use for general spends, it can go towards the body shop stuff.

So, spends account has about zero in it:D The next refund will go in soon, so I'm not too panicked. I will need petrol, but otherwise I will not spend until next week. grocery account has just £29 in...I haven't paid in the £30 I owe it for buying the boots, slippers and extra alcohol...I'll repay that next Thurs when my tax credits go in. Mind you, maybe I can manage on £29 of groceries til next week....I reckon I could - there's a challenge:rotfl:

No plans for today, I wasn't intending to go out. We have no bread but there are some part bake rolls in the cupboard girls can have for lunch instead. Meals are planned until the weekend and we're eating at my sisters on Saturday so that saves 1 meal:D

Today I'm going to make a new, updated list of direct debits...I'm not looking forward to it but I need to. It will change again soon though as my wages will drop slightly due to not working lunchtimes, but hb should go up a little. Lord, I wish I'd never started lunchtimes, it threw all my amounts. Tax credits went down £40 a month...so am stuck on that until the end of the tax year.

Time for another cuppa then ill get dressed...onwards:T

I finally got round to ringing up and arranging having a water meter fitted...I only applied in the summer hols:o:o
So, that's happening the week after next...then ill really be on to the girls to get out the shower - dd1 could spend forever either having a bath or in a shower.

A the moment I pay £42 for water each month:eek: in the other house on a meter it was £30 at the most. I shall make much more of an effort to reduce our water usage:)

I'm worried about our gas/elec:o The dd has gone up to £100pm to cover the amount they think I'll use this year:( I put the latest meter readings on my account online yesterday..and apparently I've used £200 of g&e since my last bill mid-november:eek: Scary...I can't pay more than £100 a month, it's crazy. So heating on much less now...not that I have it om much anyway and it's never at more than 19deg on the thermostat:o

Ok, off to dry my hair then sort the direct debit list...oh joy:p

I remembered this morning that I sent dd2s iPod off for repair before Xmas...unfortunately they said it was water damaged and beyond repair so returned it to us and I was due a refund for the fee I paid of £41. I just thought, I never checked if I got my refund - so a quick trawl through my bank statement confirmed I didnt:mad: Cue an email to them asking where it is - they've just replied apologising and I've received a w0rld pay confirmation of £41 back into my bills account:beer: Thank god - that is much needed right now;)

I found a bargain on the grabbit board yesterday - large yank££ candles for £8, usually they're around £20 I think. I have a littlewoods account, with just £5 on it, so I ordered 3...1 for my sis for her bday and 2 for me, I love them. I have one I was given as a pressie and it is lovely. I have just noticed on the thread that it was a misprice and has been corrected, I have my confirmation email and on my account online it's all looking good:T So pleased, a lovely pressie for my sis too.

Quick update before we set off for my sisters.

I've been to tesc0 today - returned the boots as wasn't 100% sure about them, so £10 went back in to grocery account, leaving me £33 for the week. Went and did the shopping...and spent just £25:beer: In that was £4 on sanitary stuff, £1.65 on a huuuge fabric conditioner, £2 on a 3 way plug thing and bonj£la which was nearly £3:eek:

Have uploaded the barcodes and receipt to shop&sc@n...when these points are credited ill have enough to claim £30 of amazon vouchers:T I also have a £5 one from mysurvey on its way...lovely.

I have a few nibbles and drinks to take to my sis tonghit, all leftover stuff, didn't buy anything especially:) She'll feed us, have turned my heating off...all saves a few pennies I guess;)

    Anyone about?! ;)

Well I managed an NSD yesterday, almost one on Sunday but bought dd a spot concealer stick:o I was rather hungover and extremely tired Sunday after way too much drink and staying up til 4.30 at my sisters on Saturday night:eek: I really am far too old for that malarkey;)

The car had to go in the garage today...brakes were making an awful noise - £71 and cost me £3.20 to get the bus to work:mad: Ridiculous as the us journey took all of 5 minutes. I'm very happy to have the car back though, hate not having it.

Not much else to report. Looking forward to tax credits on Thurs when I an get the grocery account full up again. I just spent the last £8 from that account on a big bag of sausages, bacon, hash browns, bread and milk - guess what we're eating tonight:)

Just checked the banking and my hb went in yesterday - odd, I was sure it wasn't due til this weekend...I must have been wrong - a good surprise though:D No plans for the weekend - girls may stay with their dad on Sat night. I need to not use my spends account much to claw back some of the £71 car money - grrrr, timing eh:o

    I'm about!

How annoying about the car but I guess it's better to pay £71 now than have it turn into a £700 bill a few months down the line.
