Muller Corner APG glitch - 10 for 32p

This won't work for Northern Ireland MSEers as there's no Morrisons in NI to allow Asda to compare
Please bear with me and apologies if I miss anything. It's maybe a bit long winded but I hope that even those who don't currently know about APG can read this and get it to work. Those who understand the APG system can skip what they don't want/need to read.
Morrisons currently have Muller Corners on offer at 10 for £2.80. Asda have theirs on offer at 10 for £4. Normally if you complete a successful APG shop you would get a voucher back that would make the Mullers 28p each less 10% i.e. approx 25p but .......
The glitch
At present, MySuperMarket are showing the Mullers at 62p each in Asda. If you buy 10 corners you will pay £4 in store but the comparison will think you paid 62p each (the price on MySM which is where the APG prices come from). This means that the calculation is:
Asda: 10 * 62p = £6.20
Morries: £2.80
APG guarantee price: £2.80 - 10% = £2.52
Difference = £6.20 - £2.52 = £3.68
Glitch: You only paid £4 in the first place yet you're getting £3.68 back so a net cost of 32p for 10 Muller Corners.
Notes: APG requires 8 unique items. If you can get a minimum of different flavours then great, otherwise you'll have to top up your basket with cheap comparables such as Smart Price mushy peas or biscuits or loose fruit/veg e.g. one carrot, one grape (yes a little as one )
***************************************************
For those of you not familiar with the Asda Price Guarantee (APG), Asda compare prices with other supermarkets and will guarantee to be 10% cheaper. Long story short if something costs £1 in Tesco/Sainsburys/Waitrose/Morrisons but costs more in Asda, Asda will refund the difference in price plus 10% which in this case would be 10p. If the APG is 'played' right, you can buy groceries on offer in the other supermarkets and get an extra 10% off the effective cost.
APG requires 8 unique items with a least one comparable item (well obviously you need at least one!). Items such as batteries, clothes and flowers will not count towards the 8. Different flavours of the same item will count as long as the items have different barcodes. This means you could in effect get 10 different flavours of Muller Corner on their own, pay £4 and get an APG 3 hours later for £3.68.

Thank you, you explained that really well!
My kids quite like muller corners, but they are usually just too expensive. I feel confident enough to try this after your fab explanation!:beer:0 -

Our Mossies deals tend to end on sundays if that helps, they even put SEL reminding customers 'ends this sunday' although I dont know if the muller deal ends this sunday or not sorry!0

Just to make sure you get back the maximum on APG, do this as a one off shop and not in with your weekly shop as other items might not compare favourably to Morrisons.
Ie just buy the mullers and nothing else:)To do is to be. Rousseau

Also buy 8 different flavours as APG needs at least 8 different products and each flavour counts as a different product.
I know this as my friend and DH when they buy the Mullers at Asda, they buy 5 of the same Mullerlights as their DS only likes this ML and 5 others for themselves. On the APG, it lists the 5 MLs as a single item.0 -
That’s just brilliant well done to worry-wart. Good work and thanks. Off to Asda I go.0
