  • Hi!

I have this too. It developed when I was about 15 and was mainly under my breasts and my armpits. It was really bad at the time but I was so self conscious that I never got it checked out, but now I really wish that I had.

Mine went away after about a year or so, and I only got the odd one or two for about four years. When I was at University, especially in my final year, it came back really badly. I finally took myself to see the doctor and was diagnosed properly. I have been on several courses of different antibiotics, and have been prescribed an antibacterial wash to be used when showering, and they have both really helped. I have one boil that never fully goes away, but it is so much better and effects my life much less now, even if the scars do stop me wearing certain tops.

hi have you tried Aloe Vera?? I have a plant on my window sill and using the juice by squeezing a leaf straight onto skin has (for me) cured a nasty skin complaint better than the prescribed ointments and antibiotics.

Also advised by homoeopath to take non-smelly garlic tablets at night before bed to kill germs etc. Seems to work for me.
  • Massive hugs - this is a nasty condition!

First off, don't stop taking medication and be careful of any quack treatments. Complementary medicine - fine, alternative medicine - no no. (There's a lovely thread on DT regarding homeopathy...)

I totally agree with the post about strong-smelling creams, and building up tolerance to things like tea tree - oils can be really concentrated even if they are "of natural origin". Go with things that have been medically proven to have an effect - tea tree is antiseptic, maybe try some honey in the bath as it's skin soothing.

I'd agree with aloe vera as well - the juice is very cooling and moisturising to inflamed skin.

Good luck and lots of love.
