I've had an idea for a .....

Savory pie,something I dreampt up with last night while in bed..You need;

Four individual or one large pastry case.
Eight cooked sausages,cooled & cut into chunks
One medium onion,fried to golden & drained on kitchen paper (or a tablespoonful of onion chutney)
One egg yolk
Left over cold mash potato.
Grated cheese
Salt & Pepper

Stir the egg yolk into the cold mash potato,season & spread a layer of onion over the base of the pastry case(s)Then dollop on the mash & smooth over,press chunks of the sausage into the mash then top with the cheese.
Bung into the oven until the cheese has melted & golden.

What do you think?....

    That sounds really tasty! A frugal way to stretch left over sausages into another meal - or to stretch a meal if you have unexpected guests, as pastry is so easy to make. Could even bung some peas or cooked leeks into the mash if you fancied a bit of green stuff to make it a little healthier... I'd serve it with gravy. Yum!
