Body 'detergents - shower gel, liquid soap, bubble bath - what's the difference?

Does anyone know the real difference between all the 'body detergents' - i.e. shower gel, bubble bath, liquid soap, shampoo (or washing up liquid come to think of it!)
Is it just the concentration, or do they have different ingredients?
I know in some ranges for men you can get 'body wash' which doubles up as shower gel and shampoo.

I ask this because Avon have a SO on their shower gel at the moment and you can get 3 of the 500ml size for £4, and it got me wondering if you could use this as a multi purpose body detergent?!

Has any one worked in a factory and knows the difference between them and the relative concentrations?

There's no basic difference if you compare the ingredients. Shampoos although usually contain sodium laurel sulphate as a thickening agent. Some will contain perfume too. Body washes tended (though not always now!) to be 'soap' free and use different detergent to cleanse.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

I always thought they were all the same,I never buy shower gel just use bubble bath and if I run out of shampoo I use the same bubble bath.
I think aslong as you have no bad reaction to them use them how you please.

    Hi shetitastic,

You should get more replies on the Health and Beauty board so I've moved your thread over there.
