I thought it was time for a new thread.
For those who have been following me my OH and I have just moved to Edinburgh and we have just moved into the flat so for those who haven't read the last thread.
Hi I am Gothrockchic I am 30 years old. As the username suggests yes I am Goth and I love my Rock.
Moving to Edinburgh has inspired me a lot and has made me think what I am going to do here. I have many ideas and I am not too sure where to go from here. So I have decided to get myself organised. Either way I need to save money. The money will go towards a car, a house deposit or a business idea that I have. So here's the plan....
1 Pay off credit card- I have savings to pay this off since it's a 0% card till October.
2 OH needs to get a job – thats completely out of my control but I am paying all the bills and so therefore won't get to save anything and may have to eat into my savings more and more so the credit card pay off gets delayed.
3 I need to declutter this whole move made me realise how much I can sell off.
4 Just generally save but it depends on no 2.
I hope to earn more Amazon vouchers, get everything discounted and start applying for more freebies!
This is the start of a very exciting journey I wonder where it will lead....

So all boxes moved and getting unpacked as we speak. I have been thinking that I need to have a goal but I thought I would live to have £10000 in a yea but on second thoughts £5000 is a better target as in the months that OH isn't working I won't save anything! I am well known for making targets and not making them. I'm changing that now.
Off to unpack more boxes :rotfl:0 -
A mixed day overall the good points are I had a NSD and claim another Amazon voucher!:j
The good news is the boxes are and I have cleared mine away but we are dancing around OHs boxes :rotfl:
Just found out that our washing machine isn't spinning that's another thing to complain to the agency about along with the dirty greasy kitchen the missing items on the inventory and the blocked sink :eek:0 -
Plumber was in today so that's the sink unblocked will try the washing machine tomorrow
Got my bus pass through today so that wil save me having to get change everyday so going for a NSD tomorrow. Today I brought my Fathers Day present and Sisters Birthday present card and wrapping present! So no NSD for me today.0 -
I came close to a NSD discovered my lunch wasn't filling enough to ended up buying something for lunch as well 95p later! I have tonight's leftovers to take with me tomorrow
Flat is starting to look tidier Oh is also having fun with the Steam Cleaner, we have our Internet and Tv being installed tomorrow so it would be good to have a play with.
I hit my head on OHs bookshelfs:mad: whilst dancing around one of his boxes nice red mark will appear tomorrow :rotfl:0 -
Hi all, I've not posted in the last couple of days, nothing was really happening.
I've been planning on paying off my credit card I hope to do it in the next few days.
We went to a "party" yesterday it was to help some friends with their fence as they both have back problems but then it poured with rain. So we ended up playing games
Today I hope to be maiking my sister part of her birthday present, bracelet so I hope that goes well!
Also claimed another Amazon voucher! :j0 -
I have just set up a BACS payment to Barclaycard so I can't declare myself Debt Free until later on this week, probably the weekend.
I promised myself a treat after paying off the CC, a big Lush box (and I am very relieved that we have a bath in this flat) so I will that next weekend if it clears.
So after buying the Lush box means I will have £500 exactly in my ISA
:j
Next step is to upgrade the account as it expired the end of May :eek:0
