Oh right, I thought the to add bit was the fruit to add to the veggie box.:beer:0 -
Carrot and seed salad:
A couple of carrots, grated, some mixed seeds and the juice of half a lemon, mixed together and popped in the fridge for half an hour. Surprisingly tasty. (I was just using up a packet of mixed seeds my mother in law brought over and I didn't know what to do with!)May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Oops. I don't think I've accounted for the purple sprouting broccoli. I've done PSB pesto, put it in the galette and now I've run out of ideas. Anyone made a flan out of it before? Or does anyone do anything different with it?May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

We love purple sprouting - especially so as it has such a short season.
Steam lightly, then toss in hot oil that's been infused with garlic, chilli, ginger, and top with toasted pinenuts and a splash of balsamic vinegar. We have it as a sidedish, but I'm planning to try it with some cream and parmesan as a sauce for fresh pasta.
It's also nice in a quiche with smoked salmon, but I get the impression that you don't eat fish??

Thanks, Penny. I'll try the oil one. No, I don't eat fish. I was going to suggest some easy meat additions to some of the recipes but I totally forgot as DH hasn't been bothered lately. And today he saw cabbage on the menu and said, 'Ooh, great!' LOL
PS Does the ginger need to be fresh or will a little powdered do?May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
