You cant delete your account just dont post any more you only made 3 posts including this one in 4 1/2 years0

That is correct. I am not a poster but I do read. I do not wish MSE to have my information any more with the recent news.
I dont think it is unreasonable to want to know how to delete the account.0 -
By joining the site in the first place you have irrevocably sold your soul to MSE and in turn that has become another asset in an £87m deal. :-)<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0

How can I delete my username and posts?
We do not remove usernames or past posts. It disrupts the history of the forum for all users.
If you don't want to post on the forum any more, simply stop posting. No one else will use that account. However, if there are specific posts of yours which cause you concern email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com for help. Remember you are able to delete your own posts.

That is what I dont like. When the site was independent I didnt mind MSE having my email and other information about me. Things change and would like this removed.
Seems I need some advice on how to progress this. Does anyone know of any independent forums?0 -
Exactly what information do you think the site holds about you? There's your email address, and, erm... help me out here.0

I have also unsubscribed from the weekly E-mail.
If everyone did this the site would be worth nothing!
Why delete your other posts ?
Bye then0 -
I'll be keeping my account on here, not often I post but when I need advice I find this site useful. Whether todays purchase affects the site, I'll still have faith in the forum users for good advice.
To be fair to the OP it should be possible to close an account. If this means that posts are deleted which then affect the flow of threads this is either a condition of deleting posts, or it should be anonomised.
Just stopping would work, but information is still held, there should be the option to remove this information if the user asks for it to be removed.0
