  • Oh I forgot to add earlier that I am no longer going to be saving for my MOT. I have enough already for the basic test in savings but if it needs a repair I will be putting it on the CC. I am being given an increase in my credit limit which has allowed me a huge breathing space.

I am paying an awful lot of interest at the moment which is much more than I am getting back on my savings. First rule of debt = pay off your debt using your savings if your debt is incuring more interest ;) So I am going to still be using my budget the same way - Anything over £200 straight to the CC and the £80 will be split as £60 debt and £20 spare whereas half of the debt money was being saved.

Sounds like a reasonable plan, plus I will be debt free at the end of Aug anyways all being well. Even if I have to use the majority of France money for debt repayments. Really don't fancy the idea of going p/t with a huge amount of debt over my head :o

  • Hey all, just home - phew!

Uni was brilliant (they even mentioned MSE ;)) funding looks do-able as I won't have to include Mum for means testing as I have supported myself for 3years+. Therefore I will recieve the full loan/grant. The facillites are amazing and placements seem fine. Unsure if I can work p/t alongside placements but I certainly can while in my study blocks.

Now I just have to find out from college if the course I am on will give me the credits etc needed for this Uni. There was supposd to be a representative from the college there but they didn't turn up *rolls eyes*!

Debating if it will be worth my while looking at Cardiff and Plymouth too?

Concert was fab but better because it was free :T Only spent £9 on 2 drinks and 2 ice creams so not too bad. I managed to see the act I wanted to and we went down the front for Mum's favourite. Skinty it was roasting here too so perfect concert weather! I hope it stays the same for at least Monday.

Its now way past my bed time but I am ok with that :rotfl:

Glad it went well PAP, definitely worth looking at the other uni's too - even if it's just to compare :)
  • Thanks Sparks, I will have a gander at when there open days are. Lets just say I am not worried about moving away for uni now ;)

    That was an expensive day!!!

Legoland was fab, hardly any queues, did everything I wanted to except one ride that is only open on weekends *confused*, had a blast and walked too far :rotfl: Spent £20 all in on 2* coffee, 1* ice cream, £3 parking, 2* keyring @ £3.99 each and a postcard. Loved it! Would like to go again... Would I pay full price - No, would I pay bogof ie £22 each maybe if it was as quiet as today. Will I go on the 28th alone - unsure.

So why was it so expensive... I droped my camera while on some swing things :( It has been dropped from higher heights before and survived but it looks like it landed on its screen. So most of the day I have been pointing and shooting and hoping for the best :rotfl: Lets just say the results are different :p The camera, a birthday gift to me, lasted a total of 4yrs 8months (its been replaced once already foc) so hasn't done bad. So at 56months, it cost £80 so thats £1.42 a day, I am happy with that.

However it means a new camera asap because what am I to do the rest of the week :o Thank heavens this week included some bank holiday pay! :T

Glad you had a great time at Legoland. Sorry to hear about the camera but not bad value at all!
  • Thanks Sparks! I must say I was gutted, mainly because it was such a good camera. It was out of date by todays standards but it was great and a kodak, they don't make digi cam's anymore :( Went with this one in the end, but 16MP for the same price. It was between that and another Fuji but much more heavy/bulkyer and of less standard. Its a huge amount of money, but if it lasts at least 3+years I will be happy :T

College didn't go well :( Flew through the written test and online test, acheiving a lvl 2 in English. However the maths gained me a lvl 1  Totally devestated! The only good thing I can see is that I may still get a place if I an offered/pass interview but it will meaning learning maths alongside the access. But a positive was that I mentioned it in my personal statement that I would like to impove my maths and that had been highlighted in pen by them, so they had prior knowlegde that I struggle with maths. Three week waiting game now :o
