Well done for clearing the loan! That will make such a difference, won't it? Your holiday plans are looking good, too.
Hope the Open Day goes well. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you!
Are you still going to France this Summer? I hope so, as the extra money would help with the College Fund, wouldn't it?
Take care,

Evening GF
The loan means I am £189.xx better off each month. Which is being split weekly between the CC and MOT saves. My basic bills (rac/dog & house insurance/car insurance/internet) are now just under £150 per month + £13 for my craft box (not in contract).
France is still happening :T The money from that is being split as charity donation, clearing my CC debt and then college/uni. The debt has to come first sadly but the uni fund will be growing after that. I would rather approch college debt free than in debt with savings.
The holiday is my last until I leave university so I am going to make the most of it just on a cheaper budget. At the moment the only definates are the concert (free) and the concert in Newport (£34) which isn't too bad. If need be I shall scale it all back and just stick with those two things. Before the 10th June I want to have payed a min of £180 from my debt, thats 4 weeks. If I do that I may go to Legoland and the Forest of Dean. If not it will be free things at home

I don't want start a new thread but does anyone know what rights I have in this situation. Basically I am fed up with persistant phone calls from my employer, not while I am working, while I have a day off/holiday. A few weeks ago I had not one but eight phonecalls in the space of 6 hours, once I returned the call it wasn't an emergency and something that could have been dealt with though email/letter/phone call while on shift. These calls wern't spaced apart sometimes the phone was put down and then I was recalled.
I realise that due to the job I am in there maybe emergencys/times when I am needed asap but its the constant phone calls that annoy me. The problem is it is now happening while I am out and unless I put my phone on silent it interrupts everything. Then comes the arguement of why should I keep my phone on silent and miss an important call/text just to avoid work?
This is coming from someone who hates having a mobile phone and used to take 3months to use a £10 top-up :rotfl: Asside from purchasing a seperate cheap handset and turning it off when I have days off/holiday's what can I do, if anything?
:cool2:0 -
I may have just recieved an email inviting me to a information and assessment session
Bad news is the tests are that day too

Tell your boss that if they want to call you when you are on time off, They should give you an on-call payment which ensures you will pick up the calls. If they dont agree to this, You should tell them firmly when they call, that you are not available to work, or to dicuss work matter. Its just a bad day, Not a bad life .. :cool:0

:rotfl: Mara, thanks for this although no way would they agree to a on-call payment. I am going to give it a 4 week period and log the calls/times and see what happens. That will include my holiday in that too. If it looks excessive I think I will speak with my boss, if not then at least get a new handset/sim. I think I can spare £10 for a quite life :rotfl:
£9.77 spent on groceries and that included a £2 gift so quite chuffed. Means no need to spend all week :T I did the mock tests sent in the email and I am scoring a lvl 2 on both maths and english so that has put my mind to rest. If I can score that on the tests then I would have passed that bit... Fingers crossed then!

postingalwaysposting wrote: »Now I need to fund/find travel. We could drive it would cost £6.50 + petrol and car parking. Or we could megabus there £7 for us both and train back (it finishes approx 10pm which is after the last mega bus) £10.70 each. Need to decide
So I have been cruching numbers...
Megabus + Train
£7 + £3 booking fee mega bus there (arrive 9.15am)
£20.70 train back (back home 11.45pm)
= £30.70
Drive
£6.50 bridge, £15.00 petrol, £7.00 parking (arrive whenever, leave straight after concert)
= £28.50
So driving wins, even though I don't have a sat nav so would need to rely on Mum's map reading :rotfl: But I just recieved an email from Travelodge (£15 off a Friday night stay)...
Megabus + Stay
£17.00 mega bus (arrive 9.15am, back home 10.30am)
£20.00 travelodge, 1 night stay 2 adults
= £37.00
So it will be £10 extra to stay... I wonder if I can persuade Mum to pay the £10? Then it will be £1.50 cheaper than drivingObviously it will work out more as we would need to purchase dinner while we are there instead of taking 2 packed lunches but it would save getting home late and being exhasted on Saturday. Hmmm!
Unsure about Legoland now as I have the assesment on Tuesday which was the day we were planning to go. Will have a think!
CC statement still hasn't been released, will wait for that beofre paying as it will count towards my min payment :T

Great news on the assessment trials PAP. I think the constant phone calls from your employer are outrageous, the point about being on call is a good one. They pay you for the hours that you work, not for every hour of your life.0

Beanie, she has agreed, will have to wait till Friday to book. Then if I haven't got the cash we won't
Toots, thanks I think I will be fine with the assesments not I have done some mock tests. Its the interview after this assesment day thats a little worrying. However I will worry about that when it comes to it.... Well there will be no way we would get on-call pay. I am going to see how it goes but I may check out ebay for old hand-sets
