Go for it Pap.
That's a great deal.
The Uni/College or Dr Who or both? :rotfl:
I don't know if it is worth holding out to speak to the Uni about the foundation course? Money wise I would be more stable but I would love to continue to work until next year. The college are emailing me over so information and I can enroll in June but sooner the better. If I don't get accepted for that 24+ loan (although the collge can't see why not) I can drop out up to the first day without penilty. However I need to take a maths and english test

Sounds like it's all falling into place nicely for you PAP, I'd say bite the bullet - you'll always find a reason to put off study and fees will probably go up again in a couple of years. Most colleges and universities have hardship funds and scholarships should you get stuck along the way.0

I might just do that. The college emailed me all the details and the course sounds really good! The subject matters are identical to the foundation course and its 2.5 days in college not the 3.
Still really worried about finance however if I stick to my usual 'run' evenings would net me £19.50 and days £16.25 unless I can get some extras. So if I could do 5 nights and 2 days (ie work all day every weekend and 3 nights in the week) then before tax I could earn £130 week/£520 month, all my outgoings plus some! I would work more nights but I thought it would be in the main college site (ie 5min away from my first call on an evening) but its the other side of town.
So now the only thing putting me off is the maths test and if I do this course and then not succesful at getting into my chosen uni

If you want to do it, and there's a way to make it work, go for it even if it's not ideal. You will always be able to find reasons not to do something - balance them against the reasons to do it, and make a decision based mostly on rationale and just a little bit on gut instinct.
Haha, struggle with the maths test indeed. Pffft, you are as good with figures as anyone I know.I'm a Money and Debt Adviser for a homelessness and housing charity in Scotland. Skint, thanks I shall have a google. I am sitting a lvl 1 test in a couple of weeks for my NVQ so if that goes well I will not be as nervous. I shall find some practice tests to do.
Sparks, thats very true :j I am thinking that if I get into the uni I want I may even stay there while completing the uni course. Then I am not solely stuck with just student finance.
Beanie, :grouphug:
Snaggs, thanks so much. I must admit that my maths is shocking I am fine with figures but the actual calculations/theory I am not so hot at. I am hoping that if I do not too good I can work at a lvl 2 alongside. I hope I don't get turned down just because of my maths test
Suppose I best visit the library and print out the application formWhat happens if I can't/don't get into my uni of choice? How do I even apply/do a personal statement... Not to mention the personal statement they want for this application
:cool2:0 -
I'm sure there will be people who'll volunteer to help with/proofread your personal statement (I would, for a start, although I don't claim to be any good at that sort of thing).
Just start doing things, and you'll probably find out the answers to your questions along the way (haha, this is my lame way of saying 'I don't know').
