  • SS, many thanks :D Still on the road but its a good indication especially when you don't weigh for a good few months. As a side thought I worked out that the three pairs I currently have was purchased mid 2009, that means they lasted nearly three years! Not bad for £6 each :rotfl: I purchased my new ones from a different shop (hence the £3 price difference) but are much, much better quality.

Beanie, Its a hard one... As I do 6 there is little you can buy in 6's so I now have a stockpile of some items. However I am going to prob stick with what I have for now. It would be great if I can finsh them at the end of September, I say then because I wait for the 'back to school' sale ;) They are delivered to the warehouse's October so I wouldn't have enough time really to make another in between :D

Oh and I am not attempting handmade christmas gifts this year. Not when last year we made a £10 limit and most of what I purchased for my sister has ended up on selling sites/ebay :o So I am getting them all vouchers (through morrisons so I can get the fuel voucher), I will prob give my sister £15-£20 as she now has a serious partner but my brother will get £10. I can not be bothered looking/thinking of gifts for them to be sold on for a profit!

terrible for them to sell gifts that you've taken time over...well done on smaller size trousers
  • Weekly budget:

    £445.49 in account

    £59.98 debits above
    £219 bills save
    £30 car ins save

    = £308.98

£136.51 remaining, will send £50 to the CC and £1.51 to coop saves so therefore £85 remaining. I am not sure I need fuel but the money is there if I do (£35). Anything left over this time next week will go towards the CC :D

Out of interest I haven't had my renewal notice from my car insurance yet. Do you think I should contact them if I haven't recieved it by next week? I don't want to end up rolling into next years by mistake and be tied at some silly amount. Also when shall I call the new insurance comany? I technically have enough for the first instalment today what with the £30 saves and the £50 floating so could I call them and get the ball rolling... or could I do both :rotfl: Current insurance is due to end 3rd May.

If it ends 3rd May, I'd expect you'll get a renewal notice next week at the latest, if not, I'd give them a quick ring to let them know that you won't be renewing.

Insurance companies do usually give you a fair bit of notice so yes, if it's not with you by end of week give them a call but it's quick to sort out online and cashback hopefully!

  • Thanks both, last year I remember it coming at least a month in hand, maybe the bank holiday has been the trouble. I shall be a little more paitent :rotfl:

    :cool2:
  • I knew I had been payed too much! The £50 floating will now have to be set aside to counter act the £50 my employer will be taking from my wages next week So my excess looks like - £136.51 = £50 CC, £50 left in bank, £35 petrol and £1.51 MOT saves.

    Oh joys!

That's really bad of your employer! How can they not keep people's wages straight?!
