Hello Hypno, I agree with everyone above, you are amazing. 10k in six months - wow.
I'm feeling ashamed and setting myself a 'be more like Hypno' challenge. I have a backlog of paid work that woudl be the envy of many DFWers and it's not getting done. I'm going to change that. Right - quitting MSE now!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Ok, have just worked out that in May I reduced my debt by £2140 from £45247 to £43107!
Woo hoo :j
Don't for one minute think that this can be repeated in June, but I am mighty happy that not only did I survive May, but I was able to come through it having paid such a chunk off!

Congratulations!! That's a really impressive amount. I say go with the flow and pay it when you can, if you need a lean month thats fine.

You are doing so well! Do you think that your DFD is still 34 months away? You seem to be doing everything in a great direction!

Well done!! That figure must make up for the low moments in May when you had nothing to eat but mayonnaise.
Hypno, can I ask a nerdy question? Do you have any loans and if so, what amount do you use for including them in your debt total figure? The amount you'd have to find to pay them off today or the amount you will pay if you continue paying over the full term?Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Glad to hear you are a Happy-Hypno today!!
How wonderful that you got through a lean 5 week month and still battered to debt down by a remarkable amount, you should be really proud. Any plans for the weekend? Planning a total no-spender up here, fingers crossed!!

Good afternoon, finally managed to get a matched bet arranged, but will come out of it with the grand sum of about £7!! Oh well, money in the pot!
With my snowball, I have 3 loans included and they are all on on-line statement type things, so I simply log on to each loan account and it tells me what balance is outstanding today and I use that.
The reason that I do it that way is because 2 of my loans allow overpayments so if I tried to add in total interest then it would get far too complicated for my tiny brain. When I update it though, it does take into account the interest that has been charged for that particular month (if that makes sense!). None of my loans are front loading and all are very user friendly so it seems to work well for me.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. I know! I have amazed myself!!
We did get lucky on ebay though, so that helped a huge amount. You have to remember though that even by just paying our minimum payments our debt will reduce by about £1000 a month so even in a lean month we have to meet our minimum payments, and even then the debt will go down.
It is scary what our minimums are, but no way sadly of reducing them :mad:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
