Might be thousands going into the red, but doubt they will lose their homes, just be put into the forebearance pot.
Things can't be that bad!!! Can they?As the Eurozone crisis deepens more than 100,000 people could lose their homes if mortgage repayments rise by just £20 a month - a leading charity has revealed today.
The Bank of England has warned that as UK lenders are hit by higher borrowing costs families should prepare to pay more as the increase is passed down to consumers.
This could lead to thousands losing their homes if the hike results in mortgage rises of £20 a month because people are already struggling with overdue bills and cards.
The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) say that many already struggling with overdue bills and cards were just about coping with house repayments and that any more expense could tip them over the edge.

What do you mean "if", they have been doing precisely that for the last couple of years. I guess food is a little bit more flexible and we can also start eating"dust".
Must just be sooo short of things to report."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

He really doesn't think it through, does he'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
I simply don't believe that 100,000 homeowners are on that much of a knife edge that having to find an extra £240 annually will cause them to lose their home. ie there are no further savings they coudl make.
Lets be honest now, that's an extra 65p a day....Go round the green binbags. Turn right at the mouldy George Elliot, forward, forward, and turn left....at the dead badger0 -
Of course they aren't. It's funding time for these bloodsucking leeches so you will get a lot of meaningless press releases in the next few days. Pick and choose the ones that fit your mentality and you'll have a field day.The J is a Financial Advisor-This site doesn't check anyone's status and as such any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as financial advice. They never usually do, their bad news filters don't allow any logical thought. I'm sure he'll be back soon to do the usual twist and squirm.
As Pete says it's 65p per day.
Which part of "what the..." and "surely this can't be true" is too difficult for you to understand?
You do realise that means I disagree with the article, don't you?
And Stevie, talking of thinking things through, you realise I didn't write the article, don't you?
I don't get this constant need to have a go regardless, apart from you were all so bloody far out on your own predictions and thoughts you just despise articles such as this which are closer to others thoughts.0 -
As predicted the twisting and squirming has begun.0

And today on MSE news....
Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) say that "our funding is up for renewal, and won't you please give us some more because our work is so important....."
In other news today, the "Don't eat turkeys" campaign say we should abolish Xmas. PETA say we should all become vegetarians. And a man from Devon was seen posting press releases for special interest groups on a message board.
More details at six.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”
