I find the restaurant example quite an amusing comparison considering that a large amount of them, particularly the ones in pubs are part of a chain and their meals are pre-made and shipped in and then just microwaved, yet loads of people pay good money for these and don't complain ! - Perhaps it just hasn't been highlighted enough.
I believe, its a very poor show to blame cmc's who highlighted this whole sorry mess in the first place and forced the judicial review forcing the banks to pay out.

It is the rather aggresive and intrusive marketing that I find annoying.
If McDonalds phoned me 4 times a day to offer their services it would be as bad.

I can understand your grievance but if they hadn't been so aggressive, the banks would still have billions of £'s of our money !

I don't think these companies did any trailblazing with regard to highlighting the mis-selling of PPI, they merely hopped on the very lucrative bandwagon afterwards.

If you check your facts, you will find thats exactly what they did, years before the banks caved in and they only caved in because of all the publicity cmc's created. Its others who have jumped on the bandwagon !

chuckles how much did you get back?

Just think if you had done it yourself you would have got nearly 50% more in your back pocket.

I had two claims, and got 75% of what I was due which I was very happy with especially as I didn't have the time (or inclination) to do them myself.
Why do people keep going on about diy ?? I get lots of people to do things I could do myself, like many of us.........I had my car washed yesterday, went out for a meal in the week (and paid £14 for a bottle of wine I could have got in sainsbury's for a fiver), had my car serviced last week, even had someone round to do some diy in the house, the list goes on !
    So whats the difference ??

chuckles ,,you are full of crap..The claim companys did not get the ruling on ppi.......which one do you work for?
And i do not believe you just paid 25% as i have not heard of below 30% after ALL charges..

Anyone reading..all you have to do is print a form off from this site and send it and wait for your wonger..
These leaches take 37% plus of your money..stay away from them..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

So you want to call me a liar geoffky ? And all you can do is be insulting. I paid 25% whether you choose to believe me or not and i do not work for a cmc.

I never said that they got the ruling but I repeat my earlier statement that if cmc's had not done what they have done, then the banks would still be sitting on billions of pounds of our money, instead they have opened the door for people like you to benefit.

Like a lot of people, you obviously do not want to hear the truth just listen to propaganda propelled by people who have the media at their hands to propel it, after all its easier to criticise than it is to construct !

I am also using a cmc for a self cert mortgage which I now know I was miss sold by an IFA. It has cost me loads over the years, its these people who need to be bought to account, earning huge fees for selling me a product that wasn't right for me but earned them more money !

What was wrong with it? Self cert mortgages were arranged that should not have been but the normal reason is inflated salary.

That is fraud and the borrower is always complicit because they are the ones who signed the application.
