Congrats on becoming Auntie Teatime !! Lovely news !
Ive been very behind with all diaries, so it has been good to catch up with yours this morning. You have had some great advice so far and seem to be very organised.
The family wedding sounds lovely, bet the boys will look lovely in their Kilts. We have a wedding coming up soon, I cant wait, but it will be expensive for us.
Totally agree with you on not giving up all hobbies. I was determined that within reason the girls wouldnt suffer while we tackle this muddle and they still do all of their hobbies. What we did though was reduce them, ie horse riding, was once a week, now twice a month etc etc. the girls have been happy with that, so it has worked out really well for us so far.
Keep up the good work Teatime !!LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Aw thanks everyone.
Going to see my nephew on Sat - can't wait.
Not much to report on the money saving. But working away slowly in the background getting the insurance down a bit, getting the Childcare vouchers all sorted out, etc.
Spent a bit too much this week with pressies for baby, taking the kids ice skating today, travel at the weekend, etc, and paying the plumber's invoice. But still doing okay. Have been doing well with the grocery shopping, I think, and should manage to stay within target. I have also not put the heating on any extra at all even though it's freezing here.
Fairly satisfied with how I am doing.GC June £78.50 / £250, May £262 / £250.

Hi Teatime & congratulations on becoming an Aunty!
Well done for trying to stick with your grocery budget. I completely blew it last month and was over budget. This week I shopped online and still forgot stuff.
I hope you've all had a lovely weekend.

Hi Naomi,
We had a lovely weekend seeing our baby nephew. Spent loads though as stayed in a hotel, petrol for the travel, eating out, etc. Oh dear.
Did come home to some Clubcard vouchers so our shop this week should be minimal and means we will hopefully continue on target for grocery budget. Yay.GC June £78.50 / £250, May £262 / £250.

Thanks Wiggles - going to see our nephew again this weekend - yay!
Okay so nearly the end of the month - we have been busy busy. Firstly in overdraft for about a week or so at end of month and I think it is going to take us a few more months to get it completely cleared so still going to have to pay overdraft charges. I was a bit optimistic about that.
I have managed to get my mobile phone costs down from £27 per month to £10.50. Will do the same for OH's when his contract runs out in November.
Have reduced the life insurance, etc from £77 to £42.
Didn't quite manage to keep to the £250 grocery budget but spent £262. Significantly reduced from previously and not too bad for first attempt. Going to try to make the £250 target next month.
I'm still a bit worried about it all as there just seems to always be things that crop up and need money and not having any slack in the budget or any emergency fund just makes me feel quite frightened.GC June £78.50 / £250, May £262 / £250.
