I've 'won' something

I say 'won' as it isn't a win in my book:rolleyes:

I know it's a long shot but can anyone remember a comp from this site Here?

I got a letter from them this morning saying i'd won a complimentary photoshoot.

It includes wine, juices tea coffeee etc
Creative image consultation
Artistic hair and make up
professional image photoshoot
private viewing with a complimentary 12 x 8 image on a cd-rom(which they said i have to take along:rolleyes: )

You have to book the appoitment though and it says prices start from a slow as £25.

It sounds like they expect me to pay...well that's not a win in my eyes:rolleyes:

Might be as i have thanked.
To be honest you can get this type of thing anywhere where they offer a small photo free and then want you to buy more photo's so it's hardly a win.

I think we should relegate these types to the likes of timeshares etc.

Looking at the website it doesn't look like i was the winner but a runner up but the letter doesn't state we would get a photo worth £29.50 it just says a 12x8 image on CD-ROM.

Not worth the trip into London for that.

No I say if you have to pay anything then it isn't a win. Youare right to be disappointed. Never mind, the big one is always around the corner:)

Wish I knew which corner though :rotfl:

    I emailed them;)
    Got this reply:

    Dear Mr. ******,

You have won a runner-up prize.

If you look on our website www.img1st.com what you have won is worth £29.50

You do actually get a complimentary 12x8 image with this prize, but we like to make you aware that if you did want to purchase further images, then you could without any hidden charges.

Please feel free to call me to let me know whats so wrong with the offer.

    Kind Regards

    Doren

I replied and said nothing wrong as such it's just the letter doesn't say i've won a photo worth £29.50 just a 12x8 image on a cd-rom and that on a flyer that came with it it also says don;t forget to bring along your cd-rom as if they expect me to supply that aswell.

I think you're right to stay clear of this kind of thing. If you did go along, after the photoshoot, there's a good chance you'd be subjected to a hard sell of buying more photos. You could easily end up £100s out of pocket if you succumb to their sales pitch.
