But Does Anyone Think The Ps3 Will Sell Out? The X Box 360 Did, And Nintendo Wii Did( At Xmas Time).. Would This Be A Good Ebay Profiter? Whats You Thoughts?

USA had pre-order and there were loads on the shelves as there still are, over in Japan they still are not selling (they are about £240 there), they seem in my opinion over-priced and not as usable as other regions, i.e. the Euro PS3 will not play as many old PS1 and PS2 titles as Japanese or American units.

Its not worth the hassle, you may make a few quid but not what you might expect compared to the wii.

At that price so soon after christmas it will be extremely unlikely that it will sell out. Most people balk at the cost - the non discounted price is £2 more than more mortgage ^^. So doubt you'd get anything back on trying to flog it on ebay.

I have no idea, they are very expensive and as it's not Christmas there may not be as much 'need' for people to be going mad on ebay for them.

This is most def not the case regardless of what people say, I recently came back from florida and used a whole day of my holiday scanning malls and computer shops and was not able to get one, there is def still a lack of them in the states, whether that is the same in Japan and soon to be here i dont know.

I wouldnt have thought ebay sales would make profits, but you'd be amazed at the absolute stupidity of some people! You can STILL pre-order the consoles from many retailers and online shops, yet people still look to ebay cos they're uneducated and think they're getting a bargain! I've seen a £425 pre-order with Argos going for £465 this morning! and the buyer wont even get it till the day later at least! and if it dont come then, their waiting till the monday, so probably are better saving time, money and hasstle and going to Argos to pre-order themselves! Idiots!

I wouldnt have said demand will be the same as it was for 360 and wii sales due to the timing, cost and availability, but if your a steadfast ebay seller, go for it if you think it'll make you a bargain! People are trynig to sell theirs to raise the same amount of money to fully purchase their own, but i cant see a PS3 selling for £850 TBPH! Good luck to you all though! :rolleyes:

Given that my local HMV had set up a demo PS3 at the entrance to the store with sales staff, to push Pre-Orders, I don't think they are moving too quickly!

The Euro release is riding on a wave of bad press, so the question isn't really whether they'll sell out, it's whether Sony will under-stock it again.
