This year is the first year we are not doing our traditional Easter dinner, which is normally exactly like Christmas dinner only minus the tree and crazy amount of presents. This year we are having a semi compromise, Lamb with sausagement, pigs in blankets and Yorkshires and veg, I'll admit I'm a bit skeptical about today's dinner but I'll try it.
I do rather like Turkey though :/

We are having chicken but I like the sound of lamb with sausage meat. We do have the Christmas tree, though because my daughter hasn't taken her little tree down yet! She reckons it will save her putting it up again next Christmas.:rotfl:

Ours was a bit different this year as usually my family and sisters family descend upon my Mum and Dad's for Easter dinner. This year, my sisters best friend had died and she had been to a funeral closer to my mums than her home so they came up on thursday night - We all went out for fish lunch lol at the local pub and then the next day was my dads birthday so we all were at mums for that too... So today, me hubby and son stayed at home and i cooked a gammon joint with roast potatoes, roast parsnips, sprouts (for my 7yr old son only who likes them yeeeuk!) and a few other veg. There is loads left too so it'll be ham egg and chips tomorrow lol!

I love traditions, but i didnt when i was 17 or 19 lol! My mum probably guilt tripped me into staying there at lunchtime but i am sure i was probably hungover or chomping at the bit to go out!!!

I think i have really only started to really enjoy traditional times with family again since having my own home and my own child.....
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

I don't think you really appreciate much your parents do/did until you have children yourself! Makes you look in a very different light at all the time they made you go places/do things you didn't want to lol :)

We did a Easter egg hunt yesterday morning, then visit from family to bring goodies. Full lamb dinner with veg, yorkies etc and choccie for pudding of course lol! Did let them have a small bit of chocolate before breakfast, only 2 days I allow that. Easter Sunday and Xmas Day :p
