Does Anybody 'Do' Easter?

OK - the scenario is that I had informed my 2 DDs to ensure that they were both at home for Easter dinner on Sunday. Nana, Grandad et al are going to be here so they are (DDs) expected. My 2 DDs told me that 'nobody does Easter mum except you'!
I've always done Easter dinner - I just think that it's like Christmas dinner without the presents - so somehow, less stressful and ...well nicer.
After DDs intimated that I was a bit of a 'saddo' I did a straw poll at work (obviously trying to prove DDs were wrong) and out of an office of around 8 at the time, nobody did Easter dinner.
Am I totally out of touch, or (hopefully
) just a traditionalist?

I am working Good Friday and Saturday.
I have had a nice piece of fresh fish tonight for my tea, courtesy of Morrisons fish counter.
Easter is a religious festival and has bog all to do with pigging out on chocolate or similar.
A family Easter Sunday dinner is a great way to bring the family together,to say hi,to communicate and share. Something sadly lacking modern society where sales of dining tables and knives/forks are down in favour of alcohol and eating out of foam trays.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
I always do a traditional Easter Sunday dinner too Pont. Not a huge chocolate fan - don't get me wrong, I do eat it; but never instead of dinner.
Roast lamb and all the trimmings - very MSE this year thanks to Mr T too. lol0 -
I usually do a roast on Sunday so its just another Sunday roast in our house.. nothing special . Never made a fuss about Easter apart from eggs for the kiddies..#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Same as tanith- Easter's usually on a Sunday (:D) so we have a roast dinner. We're not religious but do love a good roast. The children will have eggs but from Grandparents/ uncles; my parents will give them £5 each to spent on not-chocolate, as I have trained them well :rotfl:They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

Well I'm you Pont and am going the whole hog this year. DGDS aged 28months and 17 months are having an Easter egg hunt in our garden. I've got happy Easter bunting and decorations including a homemade "rustic" Easter tree with egg decorations and ribbons. We've made Easter baskets and garlands :-) I know I've gone mad but have had lots of fun making and planning.
There is room for the Christian festival and celebrations. In fact in the eyes of the church Easter is a bigger celebration than Christmas.
Any excuse to spend quality time with our family :-)The secret of Christmas

No, keep doing it, I wish I had a family to do it for. My son and I will have a dinner and go to church but I would love to have a family to come over (extended family I mean )
I also used to do a big easter tree....Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0 -
