OK. So...£9.17
917 pennies
£1 a day for the next 10 days
hmm
well, ebay obviously, surveys, roadkill, what else?0 -
Had a look at the 'up your income' thread and i have to say didn't find it hugely helpful. After reading Martin's post about increasing income i think i may be able to apply for temp work with the council, would maybe have to book holidays from my other job around the polling days though so not sure how that would work.
Noticed that the local barbers are looking for a cleaner, just 2 hours a week, so think i might dress up a bit, slap on some make up and pop in to see what the deal is, also have emailed the local freebee paper to see if there are any local vacancies, i figure i'm out wandering with the buggy anyway, maybe i could deliver free papers at the same time? Just asked them for a bit more info anyway, so we'll see what the deal is, if the pay is awful/or the quantitiy of papers is rediculous then i shan't bother.
Suppose that's actually quite productive isn't it:)0 -
Morning Elle
That is indeed very productive for a Sat morning...especially as I've only just up!! LOL I sooooooo needed that lie in though and feel much brighter for it.
I don't have any other suggestions for how you can make some extra cash - you seem to have tried quite a few things already. No doubt someone else will be in soon though who will have a great idea
Have a good day hun

Thanks BW, Wish i could have had a lie in to be honest but up at 6.30 as usual. Babies never seem to need lie ins:)
Hoping the paper thing may work out, only thing is not sure about the tax situation, it says i would be working for agents on a self employed basis, so need to check out whether financially it will be worth it.0 -

wow long link
But it's going to cost me the same as i pay now and i get a bit of data along with my mns and texts. Planning on getting the quidco app straight awy, i go to town at least once a week and if i can make £10 a month by logging into the free shopping centres wifi, then checking in in the relevant shops then great, i won't actually buy anything unless i need to:)
We are off to a party later, 1st birthday so no drinky but it should be good fun.0 -
Chana Daal
300g Chana 40p
(dried in bags where the world foods section is or where the bags of dried lentils and beans are, looks a bit like yellow split peas, you can use yellow split peas as a replacement if you can't get chana)
1tsp salt 1p
1tsp turmeric 5p
1 tbsp oil 2p
1 tsp chopped garlic (about 2 cloves is what i usually put in) 6p
1 tsp chopped red chilli (you can use dried chilli, or, chilli powder, just adjust the amount to suit your taste) 10p
2 chopped fresh tomatoes or half a can of chopped plum tomatoes (200g) 12p
Total 76p
Total per portion 19p
Serves 4
Freezes brilliantly so easy to double up the recipe and make portions for the freezer, then defrost either in the microwave or on the hob
Method
Put the chana in a large saucepan, rinse then drain, add 2 pints of water, the salt, turmeric and bring to the boil with lid off, then simmer for about 20 minutes.
In a small saucepan warm the oil on the lowest heat your hob will do, pu the chopped garlic in and fry very slowly until it goes a nutty golden colour and is a 'chewy' texture.
Add the chopped tomatoes to the oil and garlic mix and warm gently.
Add the tomato mixture into the chana saucepan and then simmer for a further 10 minutes.
Delicious with plain rice and/or naan bread:)
Rice is about 7p per portion so if you include that then it is about 26p per portion:)
Yummy

Evening all, the party was lovely and baby was suitable knackered:)
For tea it's bean casserole, tomato and mustard sausages (veggie of course) and home made roast potatoes, yum yum.
Ordered myself a new phone case and screen protector, a whole £2.99 so we'll see what it's like later in the week when it comes, as long as it stops it getting scratched or dribbled on then it's fine.
Starting to get really annoyed with my buyer, they said on Friday, after i'd opened a case against them, that their internet has been on and off and that they would pay today (Friday) while they were at work, nothing. So i've messaged to say that if i don't get paid tomorrow i'm closing the case against them, they'll get neg feedback, and i'll get in touch with the next highest bidder, hopefully they still want theme:)0 -

This looks yummy. Is chana the same as chickpeas though? Only I had to look it up because I had no idea what it was and wikipedia (that source of almost entirely useless info said it was!)0 -
I think that they are but 1'm not sure, the chana i buy is dried in a bag, looks like yellow split peas, but i guess if you dried chick peas and split them in half then they would probably look like this:)
