I read that we broke the wind record between 13:30 and 14:00 on 25th March (23.9GW), beating the previous record set in Dec 2025 (23.8GW), recorded at the bottom of Kate's excellent page above.

Hows March going for everyone vs expectations and/or previous years?

We're already well over PVGIS March estimate. It looks like jumping onto "Intelligent Octopus Flux" on 1st March was a good move. We'll almost certainly end the month with at least twice as much export as import.

We are at ~96% PVGIS after an excellent day today, so should come in roughly on budget for March.

Because we have a heat pump, and the the heating has still been required, March is normally a net zero month for us where generation is expected to roughly match usage. We won't become net exporters until April so the crossover point is a bit later for us. I would normally look to switch from Cosy to IOF in late March, as soon as the 2 week weather forecast looks favourable, but obviously unable to do that this year as Octopus have temporarily paused any switching to the IOF tariff. Had I known what we know now, I too would have jumped early on 1st March knowing it's unlikely to cost me anything if March is net zero.

My Tesla App tells me we are currently around 92% self-sufficient for the month, generation vs consumption which is in line with my expectations above.

Currently sitting at 90% of pvgis so four days remaining to gain the final 10% which would leave it fourth out of nine years generating. Perhaps the first this year to equal or beat pvgis!

Looks like we'll export marginally more than we generate but not close compared to imports. Don't know if it makes any difference but we are FF free so all energy consumed is electric.😊

Surely you must have beaten PVGIS in March 2025? Last March was exceptional at 133% of PVGIS for us.
