Any recommendations?
I'd like a cheap-n-cheerful DAB radio, solar powered or wind-up would be good, but I'm expecting to need batteries. With a plug for normal use, in that case.
Something solid enough to survive some al fresco use
I don't want it to look hideous, but I'm not paying for leather covering, solid mahogany, etc.
I want decent sound quality but it doesn't have to annoy the neighbours

I have the purple one and I can recommend it also! I wasn't expecting much for £21.99 although it does the job:)Quidco Earnings (since Dec 06): £467.750 -
I've just bought the Pure Move radio which is a small portable dab. It looks good and sounds good. It was £79 from john lewis, but im sure you could find it cheaper.£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190

I've been keeping my eye on DAB radios, I had mine stolen in a burglary recently and as its coming up to my birthday I am hoping to replace it.
I have seen and read reports that Robers and Pure are the best in terms of longevity, some other brands sound great for a few months, some up to a year then they just fail to pick up stations or become to buzzy/fuzzy to hear clearly. I've seen this reported on many models when looking through Amazon and the AV forums.
I've also read about there being some sort of a digital radio swtch over, that some signals wont work anymore after a few years. Some radios will be able to be updated but many others wont be. I read this when reading comments on the Pure Radios on Amazon, apparently some will work some wont work and there is a way to tell the difference but I didn't look too closely!0 -
Have you checked Comet? They are currently offering 10% off on them. So worth checking them out.. Good Luck!0

We've got several. My fave is the rechargeable one that looks a little like this one http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/pure-pocketdab-1500-portable-dab-digital-radio-black-01566389-pdt.html?intcmpid=display~RR~Audio~01566389
I have 2 widgets for the cars which can be battery operated if necessary - and I have one plug-in in the kitchen which also can be battery operated but eats them for breakfast so we leave it indoors.
The rechargeable one lasts a fair while, and comes with us in the camper van for fried breakfasts in grassy fields with 6 music. Genius. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
The Mail Shop do one for £19.99 and if you like the facebook page think you get 10% off. Free delivery. Mains operated but it is extra for a rechargeable battery though.
