Apple
Direct entry form
Apple are approaching 25 billion downloads from the App Store and are giving away a $10,000 credit to the person who either makes that 25 billionth download or submits the non-purchase entry form immediately after the 24,999,999,999th download
I'm not sure of the accuracy of the counter on the website, but it seems to be going up by about 30,000 per minute. As it's currently at 24,360,000,000ish by my reckoning it should get to 25,000,000,000 in about 2 weeks hence the guessedenddate
I will amend the end date when I can based on the following predictions:
Someone has converted Apple's counter into a countdown clock HERE and THIS GUY is taking it really seriously and has graphed the data from the source that Apple's counter is using to try and come up with a more accurate prediction. Looks like the potential end date is coming forwards and it will probably accelerate as it gets closer
From the T&Cs:
Regardless of which method of entry is used to enter the Promotion, only twenty-five (25) entries per person and/or iTunes account and/or email address, per day will be granted. The use of any automated launching or entry software or any other means that permits the entrant to automatically enter repeatedly or in excess of the entry limitations is prohibited.
One (1) winner will receive one (1) iTunes Gift Card for credit in an amount equal to USD $10,000, redeemable in the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBook Store, as available in the country in which the winner is located.
Note that this is not an APPLE STORE credit but iTunes/App/iBook so can be used for a lot of music, apps and books but NOT a computer etc

Does the amount of money that counter represents per minute make anyone else's jaw drop? Last time they did this it sped up massively near the end..really hard one to win. something is not right - twice already it showed 24,957,000 and then was set back to 24,892,000....
If this trick happens again it will never get to 25,000,000:(0 -

One of the guys who built their own predictor reckons that the counter is an animation based on regular actual updates eg at 1pm xx,xxx, xxx had been sold so the animation represents a prediction based on that, then is updated again the next hour with a new figure. So as sales can be higher on different days or at different times of day the counter will jump forward or back each time it is updated
At the moment it looks like it's going to get there some time tomorrow afternoon, especially as downloads look like they are higher at the weekend and it will no doubt also accelerate as the 25bn approaches
Predicting accurately when that will be as the counter is only an approximation and given the sheer speed that it's moving at (hundreds per second!) will be impossible, so I'm just going to randomly bang in 25 entries (the daily maximum) from probably lunchtime onwards and hope for the best :rotfl:Top Wins - £1,900 ITV Real Deal, titanium bike frame, 55" TV & 12m Sky Q, signed guitar, 7 night eco break, 100 iTunes credits, Blu-ray player, PS4, TV/blu-ray player/speakers/PS3, Bike Lock, tix to Marc Almond, Bon Jovi, Charlatans, PiL & backstage with Peter Hook & Howard Marks0 -
