Another food keeping problem.
Got a takeaway Sat night. Didnt eat the boiled rice but put it in the fridge. Would it be okay tonight?
Many thanks.

It takes 12 minutes to cook rice, and a portion costs around 10p, left over rice is a risky food to eat reheated, compute it yourself.
Personally I'd give it 4 mins on 800 watt.0 -
it might be a bit hard if its boiled rice, but possibly in an egg fried rice would be ok as long as its heated through properly. i would have frozen it when cool on the sat night, ive frozen rice for years and never had a problem with it.0

I always feel a bit worried about rice if I make paella I will reheat it the next day but beyond that I won't feel happy. I found this guidelines from NHS, hope it helps.

The rice is getting binned - it came as part of a meal anyway, so its just waste which is a pita.
Thanks for the link, I'll get chips next time :D0 -
I always freeze it straight away when left over. You can re-heat once only. If it's been in the fridge over two days I'd bin it.I Believe in saving money!!!:T

I'd eat it up to 48 hours after delivery and being kept in the fridge but as it's just boiled rice...forget it just boil another portion.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

The rice has gone. I didn't pay extra, it was included in the price of the meal. Our local chinese is ace with massive portions, and I just looked at mine and didnt even bother putting the rice on the plate - only just finished the main as well. Next time Ill put it out for the birds.0
