These are only minor hiccups! What you're going through in this first month isn't what goes on in a typical month.
I know it's hard but I think you need a bit of positive thinking - think how much better everything is going to be in 3 months.
Your posts make it seem like you consider a DMP hard work or a punishment, when in fact many if not most people find it allows them to get on with living.
I agree with this post. It can take a month for everything to settle down. I know it would be great for everything to be sorted like THAT. But you might need to chase a few things around before you are all on the same songsheet.
A DMP is brave and intelligent step to take to deal with your debt problems now, but don't forget to start taking care of YOURSELF now. Start forgiving yourself and you will start feeling better about everything.

The Co-Op better not charge me fee for the unpaid D/D, as they have a dedicated switching team after all - aiding my move from the old account to their new one
The BT direct debit still shows as having come out the Co-Op account, (just checked on-line), but weird as the balance hasn't gone down!
We had a hiccup at the end of Jan (not the co-ops fault, or ours but British Gas') and a DD came out that shouldn't have done. The money wasn't there, it got refused. We rang the Co-op and they didn't charge us as we were new customers and just getting sorted. So, if you DO get charged, it should all get sorted with a phone call. Our LBM: Dec 2011. Re: your car insurance.
Don't forget to read Martin's advice on car insurance and how to get the cheapest deal.
I've recently done this and although it takes some time (at least you've got until April) it is well worth it.
Most of the ones I looked at do a monthly deal - yes, you have to pay a bit extra but since your insurance looks like you pay quite a large sum it would probably save you some stress for this year.
Next time when you are more settled (!) and are a true money saving expert you will be able to pay the whole lot up front!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
Afternoon everyone, hope you are all okay?
(they say talking to yourself is a sign of madness don't they....!) :rotfl:
Just an update to say I had letters off;
a) MBNA who have accepted the £41.16 a month offer off CCCS and have reduced the interest rate on my account to 0% per annum and will waive all future late, over limit and returned payment charges during this time!
:j :T
b) A letter off The Co-Op Bank saying they are charging me £15 for non payment of the BT direct debit that they tried to take out my Co-Op account on the 15th, before I could withdraw my wages from the old account and pay it into the new Co-Op account.
Not happy with that so phoned them up and vented, nice lady said they will waive the £15 as she understood my circumstances but stressed I must have money in my account before any D/Ds come out, so I bored her with the details off my employers NOT paying my wage into the Co-Op account so I had to withdraw it, run across town to the Co-Op and pay the cash in! She warned me automated D/Ds cam come out at 1 second past midnight on the day they are due to make sure it didn't happen again! Hey, if I wanted punishment over the phone I'd phone one of those dodgy looking adverts you see, ahem! Phone me now for a good wrist slapping.... 0898 (or so I hear!)
Time to be serious again now.
The MBNA letter did also scare me and say:
Registering a default
The repayment offer you have made will not be sufficient to prevent us registering a default with the credit reference agencies even if you continue to maintain payments at this level; however we will give you 30 days advance notice of this action (unless you have already received this notice).
Scared, what exactly does that mean?
It also said: my payment is (or was) due on 28th February. If you have already made payment you do not have to make further payment this month. If you have not made payment please make this as due. Further payments will be due every 30 days until your outstanding balance is paid off. If you do not make the agreed monthly payments we will take further action.
So, am I meant to send them another £1 token payment until the CCCS £41.16p reaches them? The CCCS DMP starts on March 1st, sorry, I have just answered my own question I guess?
I will have to try and scan all these letters in at work and email them over to CCCS with a covering email and my DMP Reference Number, on Monday.
So, the ball is rolling, shame about the Co-Op throwing a wobbler when there switching team was meant to take care of all the direct debits for me.
Oh well. Thanks for reading and for the help & support you offer me!
I will double check all my new D/Ds now, and once the first payment of each one has come out my Co-Op account, make sure all future ones aren't due out on the 15th in case they come out before my wage goes in. I cant afford a £15 charge for each one that comes out when there is no money on the account.
Bye:A

Not been able to post, but been keeping an eye on your updates. Hang in there, it sounds like things are getting organised. As someone else said earlier, it's bumpy at the start, but it does settle down.
As for you question - try this: Your original agreement with MBNA was to pay them (example) £50 per month. Now you've told them that you can't do that due to financial difficulties. MBNA are happy with that, but they've still got a CCA agreement with you that you're not meeting.
Eventually the arrears will hit a point and MBNA will decide to register the default. It might then go to a DCA - I've got no real experience on this bit, but the DCA's generally accept the payment plan. You just pay them instead.
That's only my interpretation of it so could be wrong. But don't worry about it! If you can only afford £10 a month then that's all you can afford. Get your plan up and running, get a good nights sleep EVERY night...then worry about the default!0 -

We will work something out
