  • Yep, we cancelled all DD from our old account and set them up ourselves in the new account.
We missed one, I think, but that was quickly sorted out.

There MUST be a way that payroll can get your wages paid into the new account or give you a cheque/cash instead. It's 2012 !!!!!!, these things are possible. Don't back down, nag them about it.

  • Hi Rochdale

Your posts make me laugh! And not because I think the situation's funny, far from it, but you paint a pretty picture!

    Ha ha! :rotfl:

I'm glad I make some people laugh in my manic posts, I always did tend to go off topic somewhat during my posts. And anyway, there's nowt wrong with an overactive imagination is there? :j

Think back to the first time we spoke, you have come a LONG way since then (don't say you haven't because you have) and yes it's ruddy hard now but it will soon all slot into place.

Oooh, I do love a woman in control, LOL! :rotfl:

  • Ahem, a quick serious update now:

I have given in trying to get my wages paid into the new account, I'm getting nowhere spending precious energy and making myself ill :(

I have received all the Co-Op account paperwork, new Debit card, PIN number (separate post!), and now a letter saying:

"I am pleased to confirm I have now set up the Direct Debits and standing orders you requested to transfer from your RBS account.

    What we've done
We have contacted the Direct Debit companies with your new account details and they should update their records within the next 10 working days so all payments should be transferred by 21st February."

No letters from creditors (yet!) or phone calls, so touchwood, things have settled down a bit now.

Thanks everyone, crisis avoided..... until tomorrow (I predict!)

    Ha ha :)

Will cross post this unusually upbeat post of mine on the other threads I started for those who were following those epic plea's for help.

  • They said it has already entered the system..
I do our payroll on a wednesday for crediting into accounts on a friday, so i doubt yours has even been done yet.

It may depend on the bank / system used by the employer .... our's has to be with the bank 3 days before they're paid so if it was next Weds, it would have had to be sent yesterday ....

TBH with 10,000 employees, I'm not surprised you didn't have much luck - most big organisations have payroll deadlines (ours is the 12th & we're paid on the last working day) - it requires a huge amount of time to get huge numbers of employees pay processed and it would be impossible to allow everyone to change their bank details up to the last minute.

However, in an emergency - the payroll dept should be able to recall/stop a payment - it's likely that this would have to be discussed with the payroll manager though..... might be worth a try on Monday.

Brilliant on the 'no worrying post' front!!

Wish I could say the same :D

Had a suspicious looking brown envelope on the door mat when I got in this afternoon. I have done everything under the sun to avoid opening it and worried myself silly. Eventually opened it and it was only the V5 for my 'new' car! Never been so relieved!

I do understand what you are going through :)

I'm still like this Katy :o.

I switched mortgage recently and got a letter from the new provider and it took me days to open it in case they'd found a reason to pull the offer - turned out, they were confirming the details of the loan:o.

Another recent one was from HMRC  - again, I sat looking at it for several hours as I'd heard some people had underpaid and just couldn't face opening it ... when I finally did, I'd got a (small) rebate :o

It take a long time to get over the fear - even when you get to the point that you really shouldn't worry about getting letters form the bank etc anymore. I hope it goes away soon!
