Five of my debts have been passed to DCA's and they haven't been a problem. They accepted the same payments I was paying to the original creditor. Are you still on a DMP with CCCS and are Mercers giving you grief?DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

 :wall:
Mercers are Barclays/Barclaycard inhouse debt collection so it's not a new company harrassing you, just Barclays in one of their guises. My advice would be to just let CCCS know and ignore any crap from Mercers.
Haven't seen you posting for a few days, hope you are doing ok and not letting all this stuff get you down too much?
At the end of the day, it's just money, if you haven't got it, you can't give it. Have said to you before, please consider all your options and talk to CCCS about alternatives to this never ending DMP which gives you no light at the end of the tunnel, we all need a little ray of hope.LBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Mercers ARE Barclaycard.
The worst thing that can happen is they take you to court and a Judge decides whether to issue a Judgement - the Judge decides not Mercers/Barclaycard.
You keep paying your CCCS payment and ignore the letters.
You have no money, you cannot give them what you haven't got.
Your only other option now is selling the car and Bankruptcy. So either hang in there and continue with your DMP or go Bankrupt.

No, but the Barclaycard one came with the Mercers Debt Collection Agency letter, below.Five of my debts have been passed to DCA's and they haven't been a problem. I am still with CCCS on the DMP. They haven't hassled me yet, but I guess it won't be long. Don't forget CCCS told me Barclaycard weren't happy with the offer they made to them, and what they are currently paying to them each month.
I will speak to CCCS as soon as I can.
Thanks.

Nope, but I looked at their site and it took me to moneymatters, I had already done their online remedy tool back in December, thanks though..0 -

Just been very swamped with emotions and life getting me down, thank you for your post and sorry for not spotting this "in order" of my replies.

The thought of court terrifies a lot of people. However I have (in the course of my job) worked with people who are in and out of court on a regular basis because they haven't paid their debts, or they are being fined because they haven't bought a TV licence. It's no big deal really. I doubt it would go that far anyway. CCCS will have supplied them with your i&e and they know your circumstances. If it ever did end up in court the Judge will see you are being responsible and making efforts to repay and will make a decision based on your i&e anyway. Mercers know this and my guess is they are putting on the pressure because they know people are scared by the threat of court, and it is just another tactic they use to try and recover the money.DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Thank you for another nice post, well, I mean sensible post - not necessarily nice!
The mere thought of having to go to court makes me crumple in a pile on the floor, I could not cope at all.0 -
Lady who was on holiday for the last two weeks came back today and my boss verbally told them we are being made redundant on 30/11/12.
Then she put her foot in it by saying she and the other team member (on secondment) had already had their redundancy notice letters in the post.
What about me and this other woman?
On a different note, my car service and MOT (which it passed) came to £202
£90 of that was for 2 hours labour at £45 an hour, plus there was about £26 in VAT, the rest was £44 for the MOT plus materials.
Think I'll only renew my tax disc for 6 months come next month...
The annual service, MOT and tax disc renewal are all due within 3 weeks of one another at the moment. Need to change that right away!.0 -

Yes I think a lot of people feel like that, but personally I don't think that this will happen to you. The court option (and I say this advisedly because I am sure other people here will know of someone) is usually reserved for those who don't or won't pay.Rochdale_Guy wrote: »Lady who was on holiday for the last two weeks came back today and my boss verbally told them we are being made redundant on 30/11/12.

Have you tackled the boss about this situation? Seems very unfair that others have been told and not you.Rochdale_Guy wrote: »On a different note, my car service and MOT (which it passed) came to £202

Glad the car got through. It's always a big relief when it passes and you know you have got another year!DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421
