I would ignore that poster. They're being trollish.

I would ask your manager this:

    - Why is it being taken now, rather than when I take the unpaid days? Especially as there is a big chance I will be made redundant before I can take any days!
    - Why were we not informed beforehand?

That really sucks! Grrrrr at them!

Our contracts were extended until the end of September as advised by personnel and leave given pro-rata.

I still have 4 1/2 days leave to take before then, but I need 3 days in October. How does that work? I assume they now allocate leave for October and November too now?

We have been verbally told TODAY that we will be redundant on Friday 30th November..... just waiting for the letter now :(

    Happy Xmas everyone...... :(

I'm not being trollish, I was just trying to get the OP to think differently.

The below statement sums the guy up. Christmas is over FOUR MONTHS away, a third of a year and he's already decided he's going to have a crap time.

    Happy Xmas everyone...... :(

If I was 42 and only earning £1k a month in a job I hated I'd be jumping for joy right about now.

    I'm out, enjoy your thread.

I tend to agree to be honest, although maybe the delivery of your 1st post was a tad blunt lol.

in all honesty op why are u staying in this job?? situation is not gonna get any better between now and november.... how many jobs have u applied for and have u had any feedback etc?

My oh was on notice of redundancy for nearly 3 years, every month they received another months extension.. this went on for 3 years, although they are saying redundancy 30th Nov its quite possible there will be a further extension prolonging ur loathing of the job even more yes its a job however ur obviously not happy in it and it really isnt making ends meet maybe there are better options elsewhere?
And please don't anyone tell me reproducing private Council emails on a public forum is a sackable offence and breach of data protection.
    I'm being made redundant !!!!!!.

Just highlighting the way a big Council treats it's employees.

on another note u state above re the copying of emails u dont care as are being made redundant.... am quite sure copying employee emails into a public forum is a sackable offence.... if ur sacked there will be no redundancy payment made,,,, just a thot

  • sorry 1 other thing thats puzzling me... how were u able to previously manage 26k of debt with no missed/reduced payments being in the same job same income etc for the last 10 yrs?? and how were u able to borrow nearly twice ur annual salary? have u taken out consolidation loans previously and used to pay off then re used the 'paid off' credit??

Sorry, not got time to reply now, I will later.

Can you please delete that mention above of copying Council emails in a public forum, I have deleted all reference to it now in my posts, thank you for pointing that out.

I just meant being made redundant 3 weeks before Xmas, that's all. I'm entitled to be a bit peeved.
