    How are you feeling?

Anxious. It's a week today the final decision is made, then the letters go out.

If you are suffering from depression then pills and/or counselling won't make everything in the world rosy but they may be what you need to find some perspective and make you feel more capable of dealing with your current problems (I am NOT a professional or expert - do NOT take my word for anything on this, speak to your doctor).

Thanks for that, I'll see. I still don't see how pills can help though, the problems are still there every morning when you wake up....
From this side of my keyboard I don't know you at all, it could be that you're actually a very positive person and are just using this forum to vent a bit (go ahead, everyone needs to vent every now and again). But it comes across as if you are "drowning" a bit and I'm worried about how you're coping.

I'n not a very positive person at all I'm afraid.

And I have certainly been accused of being a drama queen and melodramatic before on this forum, but this IS real. It's happening, and too soon too :(

Thank you for your concern, that's nice :A

    I'll consider it.

On a different note (well not that different really), I had letters from two my creditors today issuing default notices, OPUS and also MBNA.

I swear MBNA have already issued me with one..... I'll have to go back and read some of my old posts on here, poor me.
(and poor you lot for kindly reading through all my waffling, rambling pleas for help and advice)

Latest Barclaycard statement also came saying I am severely in arrears & my account is now being handled by Calder Financial Debt Collections Agency.
Strange that as last month it said my account was being handled by Mercers.....

Knowing my luck and the way things are going, I'll have two lots of debt collectors knocking at my door for the same debt...

    :(

Just a little "talking to myself" update here (after trawling through an overfull lever arch file full of statements and CCS paperwork).

    Default notices now issued by:

RBS on 12th March > £3,849 still owing.
    MINT on 6th April 2012 > £6,021 still owing.
OPUS on 30th July > £,1637 still owing.
MBMA on 1st August > £9,143 still owing.

Barclaycard have not issued a default notice yet and weren't happy to accept the offer from CCCS. I still owe them £3,174.

There is also £2,795 still owed to Northern Rock for the loan.

Total still owed = £26,803 with just £630 paid to CCCS :( :wall:

Possiby a stupid question but have any of these got PPI? If you have they will pay out after your redundancy, unless you're not eligible and then you would reclaim?

I wouldn't even know where to begin starting a PPI claim, or even if any of them had PPI on. I've had the MBNA card the longest, they're the ones who gave me an £11,000 credit limit on. But I know it's my fault for building up these debts :(

Stupid me probably thought I was doing the right thing when I took all these cards on and declined any PPI thinking I'm not paying them back any extra each month.... if only I had of done.

How do you suggest I look into this.... please?

    Thank you.

I've been looking into this too. If you have PPI on a CC then the PPI payments will show up as a separate payment on your statement, so the good people on the PPI board told me.

I have two loans I am looking into and there are template letters on this site you can use. Might get some money back from mis-selling.

  • I'm a Rochdale resident.

What I like about Rochdale is how close it is to other places.

Manchester, Oldham, Heywood, Bury, Bolton and Rawtenstall are all within easily commutable distances and all pay much better wages than Rochdale.

Earning only an extra £1k a year will usually cover the majority of commuting costs and with the tram coming into the centre it will soon be even cheaper, not to mention quicker to commute.

None of my friends are unemployed, but they're not all dependent on Rochdale Town Centre for work.

I don't usually wander over to this particular board but then i spotted this thread with the OP name.

I too lived in Rochdale for the first 21 years of my life and my parents are still there. Both worked in Manchester, (my mum is now retired) and i do too. I have also moved to Manchester as it's more convenient.

When applying for jobs after uni there wasn't anything available in Rochdale so i had no choice but to search further afield.

It's nice to see there's a few of us on the boards!

I do apologise that this is majorly off topic.

Well, I don't have anything showing as separate payments on any of my statements, what about if I once took it out and then cancelled it? Guess it doesn't count?

Not that I have statements from years ago.... :(

If you did then you still may be entitled to the money back if it was a case of mis-selling, although I don't know how you would go about it. You could read up on the MSE info about reclaiming, see if that helps.
