REALLY Greasy Skin :(

As the tittle suggest peeps I am having trouble find a skin care routine that suits me.
I used to use Simple but all of a sudden it started making my skin really greasy after a few hours.
I have recently brought some of the Lacura Aldi face care and that either leaves a horrible 'film' of grease on my face or it stings!
Can anybody suggest anything please? I don't want to waste anymore money on trying out things.
Should i send of for some free samples of the more expenses brands like clinique etc?
Thanks

Have a look at the Oil cleansing method:
MSE thread (long!): https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/917733
Info website: http://www.theoilcleansingmethod.com/0 -
I've tried loads of cleansing lotions, washes etc. and despite following the advice that I ought to use something as gentle as possible I found that washes definitely made things worse and anything milky in texture was a no no.
I use this from Boots - quite cheap and isn't too astringent which was a surprise to me as it has tea tree and witch hazel in it and is alcohol based. http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Tea-Tree-Witch-Hazel-Cleansing-Toning-Lotion-150ml_1213606/
Other posters may recommend using the oil method and there is a thread about that somewhere. I tried it and didn't like it although some swear by it.
Other factors: diet, stress, pregnancy, contraceptive pill effects, illness, using too many different products in rapid succession and 'confusing' your skin, over-cleansing, make-up...4.30: conduct pigeon orchestra...0 -
Cheers guys, i shall have a read of the thread later. In debt no more!0

Don't use any products on your face that come in a jar, seriously they are too rich for you, I have very oily skin and use Boots Essentials cucumber range with huge success, think hydrating rather than moisturising, I am alternating at the moment with Superdrug sensitive which is just as good but my skin gets used to products quickly so I mix it about a bit, if your make up is sliding off, No 7 do a good primer, even better is Milk of Magnesia straight from the bottle, do a search on this forum, I've recommended it before with success and lastly the best foundation in the whole world for oily skin is Revlon Colourstay - hth:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

Has anthing else changed recently such as diet, lifestyle, illness, stress etc
What is your skin normally like?
Definately try and get free samples because not all combination/oily products suit everyone, Clinique, Estee Lauder, Lancome, Clarins, Arden will all happily give you sample sizes to take home and try

I recommend a range called 'effaclar' by la roche posay, available in bigger boots stores. It's currently 2 for £15, their effaclar m moisturiser (normally about £13) has worked miracles for me, keeps my skin pretty matte all day! In my boots there were brochures on the stand for the products, inside is a leaflet you can send off for some free samples. It's a range that was recommended to me by a dermatologist, and I've been impressed so far.0

Hi Loubie_Lou,
I really feel for you - I have had weird skin changes and it can ve very disheartening.
First, on the positive - oily skin ages better and will naturally have a nice texture once you get the oil production right!,
Now, from what I have discovered (through trial and error and a lot of research) I have found that not many companies understand skin and particularly not oily skin. You must learn that you are producing too much oil because something has confused your skin and it is actually lacking in moisture, so it is over compensating.
So, you need to clean the skin without stripping it (which is very tempting with an over oily skin) or you will just be adding to the problem. Cleansing is also important to avoid getting spots which will only happen if oil or dirt gets trapped.
I would therefore stay away from any products that are anti-aging, stripping, or abrasive in any way. Ideally go for a simple and gentle cleanser (one I love is Kosmea's Calrifying Cleanser: http://www.mypure.co.uk/kosmea-b142/clarifying-facial-wash-p1164) but anything that will be very gentle on the skin and cleanse it throughly without stripping it will be fine. The skin will naturally start to settle down by itself, unless you have perhaps a medical issue which you can get checked out with you GP, of course!
Good luck and hope it all works out for you!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
CLEAN & CLEAR Shine Control Daily Facial Scrub. It comes in a lime green squeeze container. They also make a cleanser in a pump container. Cheap and cheerful and absolutely superb for my oily skin.0
