I have to low carb for health reasons, which means that I can't indulge myself with hot chocolate in this cold cold weather..so I looked at cocoa and US chocolate giant Hershey makes unsweetened natural cocoa powder that's only 3g of carbs per mug.
Problem is I need to find it at an inexpensive price. Wally's Deli in Cardiff sells it at 5.05 + delivery. Amazon sells it for 6.99 with free p&p. Skyco 5.86 + delivery. Sparks Yard in Sussex has it for 5.95 + delivery.
Anyone know anywhere cheaper please ? Any US/Canadian expats on here if so where do you buy your N American food from please ?

Green and Blacks do a natural cocoa thats 13g carbs per 100g - a 5g serving would be less than 1g carbs for a mug
Bournville Cocoa is only 10g carbs per 100g and Asda own 8g per 100g. Both considerably cheaper but G&B is lovelyPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

It is 3g carbs for a 5g serving, ie per tablespoon. This is actually considerably higher in carbs than most UK cocoas - perhaps they adulterate it with flour or something? Whatever, if you want low carb, stick to a UK cocoa powder not Hersheys.
And also, for the sake of your sanity, stick to British nutritional labels. The carb counts in US products are not the same, firstly because they usually choose an arbitrary serving size so you need advanced maths to work it out as a percentage, and secondly because they count 'dietary fibre' in a way that makes the carb counts for the same products appear to be wildly different.0 -
Bumping this so Edwardia doesn't have to spend so much money on a not-very low carb product...0

Haffiana, I didn't see your previous post so alas, I already bought the Hersheys. All is not lost though as the woman who co-founded Green & Black has a shop in a town not far from my mother so we've planned to visit it later in the summer and I'm sure to be able to pick it up there
Thanks for thinking of me and bumping x0
