Hi All,
I've got a SA tax return to do because I wanted to start my own business last year but in the end I never started it, so I have stayed employed at the same company I have been at for 8 years. I get paid the same as everyone else and pay my tax and national insurance the same as every one else.
I never took a single penny for the company I wanted to start or bought anything etc.
Do I still fill out the form and if so how do I fill it out?

If you've been required to complete it (Return sent or 'Notice to File'?) you have no option if you want to avoid a penalty. If it's recent then you have 3 months from the issue date - otherwise 31st Jan is closing fast.
You complete the Return as issued (or online) .... but also have to complete the employed pages for your PAYE side. It has to be a return of your complete income for 10-11. Note the fact that the business ceased within 10-11 ...... or is this a Limited 'company'?If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
I've just realised what it is..... I went bankrupt 04/10 and paid NT from 07/10 till 04/11 so I am being asked to fill out an S/A form for this. Still not sure what I'm supposed to do though.0

Just fill in the form (tick the appropriate boxes/give additional information if required). Take a copy for your records.
Send to HMRC recorded delivery.0
