Dear diary
It's Wednesday and I've woken up in a better frame of mind today thank goodness!
The refund expected from cancelling our TV licence came through yesterday so I will be doing some store cupboard shopping today. I need some olive oil and lunch box bits - will be going to Lidls and 99p store for a MSE shopping trip.
Today's the day when the council make a decision on whether they will help us with housing. I am expecting a negative response so I won't crumble into an emotional heap when I'm told. I now know that I have options to appeal, have access to legal aid, have help and support from a family support charity so a plain 'no' from the council doesn't have to mean the end of my world. It would have been a couple of weeks ago but now I am stronger and I'm slowly building a wall of support around me to help.
I plan on doing some clothes washing and may be some ironing depending on how I feel. I have to take it easy as my depression just drains me but I'm trying to be positive and right now I feel like I can tackle this.
On my meal plan today I have chicken and creme fraiche but I am going to change this to lamb leg steaks, roasted new potatoes and parsnips and broccoli. The creme fraiche will keep for another day.
Well I'm going to shake a leg and get myself moving so bye for now x0 -
Dear diary
Well it's Thursday today. I was pleased to see the back of yesterday in the end! I spent most of the afternoon in tears feeling sorry for myself. It was because of a mixture of the council still undecided about their decision and some rather frank replies to my posts on here. Naively, I didn't think I would be judged or felt I had the need to defend myself. I have already admitted that we are in this mess due to stupidity I don't need my face rubbing in it!
So I start today feeling a bit disillusioned really. I have an appointment this morning with a charity for families in need so I'd better get myself ready for that.
Catch up later - bye for now x0 -
Dear diary
I've had a fairly calm and event free day - yay. I took MIL to the fruit & veg market. I bought some fruit, veg and meat there myself. Everything is so much fresher and cheaper :~). Just need to do my next meal planner to make sure I don't waste any of it.
I also popped into the local coop after reading so much about 'yellow stickers' on a thread here. I got some bargains with stickers! Reduced stuff= king prawns, garlic bread, spicy pasta, sausages, biscuits (oh and i bought a full priced bottle of wine cause I'm worth it and after the week I've had I will very much enjoy it).
To be honest I haven't thought about our situation much today because I know there is nothing I can do until Monday. So I will pretend to myself that everything is ok and normal.
Well I'm off to see what delights are on TV tonight and start thinking about what to cook for tea tonight!
Bye for now x0 -
Well done for starting a diary

Ignore the people and their nasty comments, they have nothing better to do
Don't feel stupid, you made a mistake and now you are dealing with the issues that this mistake caused. If you where stupid, you wouldn't be sorting things out
Keep reading other peoples diary's, they are full of inspiration and there are many more lovely people on here that will help you along the way

Hello
Im using my diary as therapy and need somewhere to say what I really feel and wanna say. I'm having to bite my tongue sooooo much that it hurts!!
I certainly won't let a small percentage of small minded people put me off my road to recovery!
Thanks for your support x0 -
Dear diary
Yesterday was a very lazy affair - it was a NSD which was good. I spent the majority of the day reading my book which I am having trouble putting down! Reading let's me forget how crap everything is at the mo.
I have written my meal plan for this week:
Mon - Chicken Risotto (used left over chicken from roast)
Tues - Steak (frm market), croquettes & asparagus (reduced from co-op)
Weds - Chicken & leeks with white wine sauce
Thurs - Minted lamb ribs, rice & peas
Fri - Spag Boll & garlic bread
Sat - Chicken currey
Sun - Roast dinner
I had a call from the housing officer today. It appears that a decision has been made by the council regarding our housing - we just need to wait for it to be delivered. The waiting is going to be hellish. Keep everything crossed for us please
In my heart I am convinced that they are going to say !!!!!! off so hopefully I don't crumble under pressure.
I'm going to try for another NSD tomorrow as I have nothing planned other than washing - groan.
Think it's time to get my book out again so catch up tomorrow.
Bye for now x0 -
Fingers crossed for you, hopefully the wait won't be to agonizing
What book are you reading, I love a good book thinking of going to bed in a mo to read my book - The Gun Seller by Hugh Laurie - as TV appears to be rubbish tonightMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

I'm reading Die for Me by Karen Rose. I stumbled across her at a book swap at work. I didn't think I was going to like it as it sounded a really weird mix of thriller, crime, horror and romance - but it works and I'm hooked. The characters in all her books are linked but you can still pick up any book in any sequence and enjoy them. However, I have started from the beginning of her collection and now I've got about 4 to do.
I will have a look at your book next time im in the library as I like Hugh Laurie

Here's hoping today went well - guessing the brown envelope drops on the mat tomorrow.
[As for that housing officer - that's downright diabolical! I've never, ever (did I mention never) heard of any self respecting housing officer keeping a 'valued' customer in the dark like that.]0 -
Dear diary
Well I've been on a whirlwind for the last couple of days! We've been consumed with all things 'council'.
The hand delivered 'brown' envelope contained a four paged letter stating why they were 'minded to' decide to deem us as 'intentionally homeless'. We've spent hours on the phone and at the CAB gathering advice on how to respond to it. So later on today I will be delivering our response (which is also 4 pages long!) to the council. We have every expectation that it won't make the slightest bit of difference but we now know that once we receive their official response we will have 21 days in which to appeal. My nerves are shot to pieces - it's such a worry.
On the upside I have a freezer full of food so we won't need to do a major food shop for at least a week. I will only need to buy milk, bread and a few fresh and cupboard bits. This is just as well as we have very little money left and hubby's pay day isn't until 31st. I will be following the frugal living thread avidly and the yellow sticker thread!!
Well I suppose I'd better get myself moving and get going to the council.
Catch up later diary!!
Bye for now0
