  • We always put the decorations up on the 12th December (my mums birthday) and we always take them down on the 6th Jan (my sisters birthday).

I put up my decs and tree on December 1st and I have just this moment taken all the cards down and removed all garlands. The tree is still standing but no decs on it.

My lounge and dining room look so bare, I don't like it.....I love Christmas and all the pretty stuff, but I must get organised as OH is back at work on Tuesday and feel as I need to get back into a routine.

Our decorations came down today, our daughter has a birthday in the coming week and we have always done our best to seperate her celebration from Christmas.

The only exception being the HM wreath on the front door...it just looks so welcoming...I am always sorry to see it go.

Had so little up, is no hassle for me. just a tree this year, and a few piddly decorations.

Although lovely to look at, feel sorry for those houses decked out like santas grotto. Looks kinda complicated. :rotfl:

Just as soon as I can be !!!!!D, hate the job. But deffo before 12th night.

Takes me about two hours to do the whole lot, the family have at last agreed to have a smaller tree next year instead of the mahoosive thing we have now, thank god. Should halve the time.

I always wrap my pictures up in wrapping paper and rehang them, they look like giant gifts on the wall. Then when you take the decs down in January (or whenever) the house doesn't look as bare as you haven't seen your pictures for weeks ;)

  • I took mine down this morning and like many of you I'm having a big tidy up to get things back to normal before I go back to work tomorrow. I always make sure they are down by 12th night but as that is mid-week this year I took them down today as I think it's going to be hard enough getting back into the swing of things with work as it is!!
