They usually charge you on the morning of delivery. I believe they have something ridiculous like 6 months to claim a card payment from your account

They can still charge your card, i know my store all the card charging was done by 12 30pm, maybe your store is just a bit slow in doing teh paperwork.

You could call the call centre and just say you havent been charged OR you dont spend the money they should have taken in the eventuality they take teh cash.

They will take the money. As they had to manually pick the shopping, they would have needed to manually take the payment, and it looks like they have forgotten. You can ring up and let them know, or just wait - they'll most likely take it soon, but have 6 months in which they can take it without providing prior notice, and 5 and a half years after that when they can claim it although it is good practise to give you 7 days notice first.

It could very well be in a pile of others to be done, it is normally done day of delivery but knowing what it was like on friday i reckon the staff had other things to do to get the orders picked, packed, stored away and help the drivers to load up.

Sainsburys did this to me once a few years back. I phoned the bank and asked how long they had to take the payment as I knew cheques had a use by date of 6 months. I was advised there was not a time limit. I had almost forgotten about the debit card payment when four and a half months later they took the payment.
Short of changing bank accounts I would advise you to keep the money available.

And they have six years to take the money, although after a certain time they have to warn you in advance.

Visa and Mastercard give them 6 months to take payment, but they can chase you for the money for upto 6 years.
