I haven't yet assembled the wreath for the front door this year (artificial base to which we add real greenery, ribbon and other decorations). I haven't got round to going collecting holly etc and decided to try rosemary from the ginormous plant in our garden instead. I've been experimenting this morning. It looks very like fir but is different in colours and smells wonderful. If I hadn't got the artificial wreath already, I think I could have made the whole thing from rosemary and added other herbs as decoration. Very Elizabethan!
If you don't already know about it, the https://www.keepcalm-o-matic.co.uk website lets you compose and print 'keep calm' posters to your own design. Might be useful for a last minute addition to a hamper or, reduced down in size, a greetings card.
Has anyone else got any other last minute cheap and easy ideas?

Thank you so much, that website is fab!
You have also reminded me to make my wreath this morning, I've got a plain willow wreath to which I am adding holly, greenery from a fir-looking tree from the garden, dried orange slices, pine cones, fake cream roses (leftover from our wedding table decorations) and some red ribbon. Exciting times!
I have made this gingerbread recently and it went down a treat. I made stars and piped names on in white chocolate for my tutor group (I am a teacher) and wrapped them individually in cling film, they really liked them.0 -
That's a great site - thanks!!!!0

I've been admiring fabric scrap wreaths on Hardup Hester's blog; lovely and can probably be assembled from the stockpile. You might want to have a wander across there.................:)

I have a few things to do, still some presents to wrap, quite a bit of baking to be done throughout the week but apart from that I think I have anything done, anything extra shall be just that. With the lack of snow we might make some glitter snowflakes this week, nothing really to add here then!Credit Card: £796 Left/£900 October 2011 :eek:Store Card: £100 October 2011

Thankyou Grey Queen, the wreaths take about an hour to make, so are very quick, yesterday I snaffled an old kettle before it went in the bin, I've planted a polyanthus in it, pics on my blog. I've used pea sticks instead of a Christmas tree this year, stuck them in a vase & added baubles, for those who can sew, small bags filled with fiberfill & scented with essential oils make a nice gift.

I'm planning on making some ginger biscuits for the tree today. :j
Also, I'm making a brownie mix in a jar xmas gift for my 9 year old niece who loves cooking/baking.
It won't cost a thing as I'll be raiding the cupboards.Stone walls do not a prison make, nor iron bars a cage.0 -
I have made vanilla fudge, brown sugar fudge, muscovado and brazil nut fudge, Ginger fudge. Tis has got rid of three tins of evap and vast amounts of brown/muscovado sugar that has been in my cupboards for a couple of years!
I also don't have a wreath, so picked some random greenery (including laurel and cotoneaster) tied it in a bunch, added a ribbon and a bunch of mini fir-cones to it and tied it to the door knocker:D0
