I hope you can see the problem.

I don't need lengthening, volumising, millionising, nourishing, 3D, 4D, false lash effect mascara - I've got plenty of hair, thanks.

I even have to pluck them from the corners (you'll notice I'm a little bloodshot there, too).

I just need something to 'spruce' them up a bit.

Maybelline have stopped doing their "Unstoppable" brand and when I went into Boots for their "Stay Perfect" version, the girl didn't have a clue what I was talking about. That's gone too.

I need a 'stay put' mascara that will stay on all day without the little black snow flakes appearing on my eye bags.

Bourgois Clubbing was too gluey and everything else I find in the shops flakes.

Does anyone know of an alternative to Maybelline's Unstoppable or No7's Stay Perfect.

And it's got to be waterproof.

Not asking for much, am I? :o

Edit: And if someone could point me in the direction of instructions on how to resize pictures, I can stop breaking your computer screens. :o:o:o:o
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

Is it for colour? Get them tinted or DIY tint. If it's to hold the curl/shape/keep em still then models own volume mascara is very light and natural, I use it when I just want my lashes to be coloured, fanned and curled not all chunky or volumised. Bourjois volume glamour is also good for this and I got a mascara in my glossy box today called "nouveau lashes" which does that too but the RRP is more than models own/bourjois.

Thanks for all your replies - yep, they're dyed. As a ginger (the clue is in the Forum ID) my facial hair is white blonde so I dye my eyebrows and lashes. Cue winking at my reflection to check root growth. Having spent a fortune on mascaras over the years, I'm in no hurry to spend more - yes, I've tried benefit, wasn't impressed with any of the Bourjois range and am ekeing out the last of the Stay Perfect. I might try the No17 at some point. Thank you.

  • Have you tried clear mascara?
  • Clinique goes on very smoothly. Mine are nowhere as good as yours, but they are very long (so much so, the girls at the counters usually remark on them) as they brush against my glasses even without mascara,

  • Lancome Hypnose about £21

    or

MAC Zoomlash £10 (seriously, a high end, top quality mascara for the price that people would pay for trash from Superdrug)
  • I thought Hypnose made friends' eyelashes look like squished spiders attempting to mate with cheap stick on falsies. :(

I used to use Lancome Hypnose but felt it dried up far too quickly, I was going through a tube a month

I now use Mac Haute & Naughty Lash. It has 2 different brushes, one for natural day time lashes and one for high impact volume night time lashes. I bought 2 tubes in about March this year and I'm still using my second one now :)
